  • HiLift Jack shortening

This may sound like a strange question but does anybody know if you can buy just the ladder for a HiLift Jack?

I have a 60" genuine HiLift but it's too long (when mounted on the back of the Prado) to have enough ground clearance when off road and able to fit under the garage door. I have to back the car out of the garage then fit it and vice versa on getting home - I'm sure I'm going to forget it one day.

I could just cut 12" off the bottom but would like to be able to carry the longer ladder section in the car and have a 48" HiLift on the back for maximum versatility.

You should be able to buy all parts I'd think. I'd give ARB a call.

my guess is the part would cost as much as a new jack.....it's key and large part and parts are never cheap unfortunately

At the moment the only part I can find is the repair kit - I will give ARB a go though.

Probably right that it will cost as much as a new jack Oh well, expect I will have to break out the angle grinder.

I emailed JeepKonection yesterday and heard back this morning. It's not a stock item but they can get me one for $30 - that sounds like good value.
