1986 Corolla Hatch
I had a 1986 Corolla FX GT that had 2 doors and was an absolute beast! Couldn't find an insurance company that listed it. Was yours similar??

Yeah kind of. Those were a hatch back with a 1.6 16v twin cam in a front wheel drive chassis.

Mine was a coupe with 1.6L 16v (later upgraded to 20v) twin cam in a rear wheel drive chassis.

The 76 corolla van [ke36]i mention was my 1st car , a car that i learnt a bit about how you could blow money. I removed the engine /gearbox and replaced them with an imported 1600 twincam levin spec motor with matching 5sp gearbox ,with interior /exterior tarted up,looked great went great. A great little car that i only purchased as the old man said was a good 1st car for an apprentice plumber and better and cheaper than a v8 hq that i wanted to buy.The old man said ii was an idiot for wasting money on cars ,i now think he was wise.

My first car @ 19yrs old was a 2007 Holden VE SV6 sedan with HSV interior mods, very comfortable ride, do miss it alot.
Mrs first was a 2009 Holden Astra. Dont miss it at all....
Then the Mrs and I bought the 2007 GX 120 Prado last year, having so much fun in this beast, well I am, the Mrs just hangs on for dear life...hahaha.

All my cars are:

1975 - 1964 Morris Mini - $325
1977 - 1977 Holden Gemini - $4,000
1980 - 1980 Chrylser Sigma - $7,700 - total crap, stuffed after only 6 years and about 90k kms
1986 - 1986 Toyota Corolla 16V Twin Cam Hatch - $16,700 - most fun car I have ever driven, including BMWs, hot Subarus and more
1999 - 1999 Toyota Prado V6 - $45,000 - still going strong and intend to keep for many more years

Funny thing, all my new cars price was about the same percentage of annual salary at the time. The Mini was only 11 years old when I got it, but compared to the Corolla, which was 13 when I sold it, like comparing chalk and cheese. The Mini was crap, the Corolla still a great and reliable car.

Datsun 1200 2nd owner 1st car spent a shit load on it,turbo,blah blah blah went like a rat up a drain pipe(didnt stop to good but lol),
HZ Kingswoods x2 2nd owner for both(one V8 one six) pretty reliable cheap as to fix,
Bluebird 2nd owner granny car,
Swift x 2 NEW,flogged the arse out of them couldnt kill either of them, :-)
Mazda dont know how many owners hatch rust bucket,
Ford 2nd owner fairmont ghia luxury shitty oil leaks and crap rear breaks,
Turbo charade New torque steer but was a pocket rocket,
