Tyre temperatures - how hot is too hot?

G'day. I'm looking forward to using my tyre pressure monitoring system on our simpson trip in the coming weeks and as it monitors pressures and temps, it got my wondering what's a safe limit when it comes to 4x4 tyre temperatures?

Use the 4psi rule. Temperature is directly related to pressure.
If your pressure increases by more then 4psi from cold pressure, the pressure is too low or you are going too fast.
Changes in environmental temperature also affect the tyre temperatures. So the 4psi rule may not necessarily be accurate if you started off early in the morning in cool weather and you are met with a heat wave in the afternoon.

Amts is spot on, pressure change is the main thing to watch. I've never been able to find much info, but 10-15% seems to be the range.

When towing my camper the rear types will go from 50psi to around 60psi.
