  • Just ordered Conqueror UEV 390 Camper Trailer

    Hello,

Just letting everyne know I just ordered a Conqueror UEV 390 camper trailer. (Very excited, so I had to tell someone), now I just have to wait MONTHS to get it. But thats OK, it gives me time to build a garage to store it in, get a winch, diff lockers, power module, exhaust and EGT monitor, electric brake controller etc etc. So I will be asking lots of questions over the coming weeks, and look forward to any help I receive.

    Cheers,
    Stuey

Wow - these are heavy duty units. Well done to you!

Look forwarding to seeing your camper when you get it and hearing what you think of its set-up.

Congrats on the new camper. My wife wanted the 490 but @ $70+K it was out of my budget.
We instead got the Camprite TL8s. Great camper but don't get to use it as much as I should!

The conqueror's definately look the goods

          Regards Adam

Are you sure you really own that Camprite TL8 Adam??

That picture looks like it has been photoshopped to me.

Have you been speaking to my wife

Well your right, infact I think & I would have to confirm with SWMBO that the only thing I own is my guns & the rest is hers including the 2 houses. I'm just the lucky one who gets to pay for it. She does remind me how lucky I am.

                  Hi Adam,
Yeah, I would have loved the 490 as well, but I was looking for something smaller and lighter, oh and a bit cheaper as well. I did have a look at the Camprite and like the idea, but I wanted more storage space. Although all my research has been done via google because we never get the oportunity to see any camper trailer companies in Darwin. I called into Conqueror in Brisbane when I was over there for work in January, but apart from that, and looking at friends camper trailers, it's all been my friend google.

The Conqueror looks tough and quick to set up and pack up. (which is a must for me). So hopefully it ticks all the boxes when it arrives.

                  Cheers,
                  Stuey

Those conquerers certainly look the goods, I haven't seen one in the flesh but I would like too If you don't mind me asking stu, what kind of $$ for yours? and also what does it tip the weigh bridge at?

As for Adams Camprite, I have seen it hooked up behind his Prado so I am prettty sure he (or at least Leah) owns it! Looking forward to seeing the camprite set up at the GTG.

                      Cheers Andrew

                        Hi Andrew,
I've only just ordered mine, so unfortunately I will have to wait until December to see it in the flesh. I believe the weight should be about 850kg. The base price for the 390 is just over $36k, but with the accessories mine came to $41k. Here are some pics off their old website.

                        Cheers,
                        Stuey

they are a great bit of kit alright. unfortunately conqueror australia gouge the prices here ferociously.

When i was passing through SAF for work, i checked out the prices of the commander (UEV490) and they are around a third of the price there, for virtually same spec... Will be buying one over there and importing or buying through africampers.com.au

I checked these out at the caravan and camper show about a year or two ago. I saw the topped spec one (490) on display and wow were they build strong - think military spec here.
What sort of coin for importation fees and taxes? Have you looked into any compliance/registration issues?

around 40k complied, landed on the road.

Even cheaper if you can source them 2nd hand. I was going to buy a 18month old one, hardly used in perfect nick for 140,000 rand (16k AUD), but work got in the way. Bit of leg work involved but conqueror are selling them here for 70 odd k!!!

Few minor differences they do to them here, i think they fit electric brakes and webasto diesel hot water systems where the commander has Alko overrun brakes with gas hotwater.

I don't mind paying a bit extra for simplicity and them doing the legwork, but 30 grand worth? Cmon.
