  • Fishnut's Maroon Marauder RIP

    Hi all,
been a while since I've posted much - been too busy using the prado! But thought I'd jump on and let all the old-timers know that we lost the maroon girl on the weekend. We were turning right off the highway and the guy coming up behind apparently didn't see the indicator and decided to overtake. We rolled twice and ended up like this. Incredibly, we walked away with no injuries except some very sore muscles. The furkids were with us and they survived un-injured too! The other driver escaped with just a few busted toes, thankfully.

Good safety advert for an old prado, even without side airbags. Also a good advert for a strong cargo barrier and having everything bolted down.

so, I guess it'll be a new project for us in the near future....

    Cheers,
    Glenn and Deb

Wow!!!!....... now I am really glad that I have the Dark Furnace, (maroon) any other colour........... who knows???????????

Really good news that all, got out of it ok, even the other fellow.

No one wants to lose a vehicle be it a 4wd or car, truck, bike or anything. But this does prove that life is incredibly valuable and can't be replaced, whereas possessions can.

It's a pity, that some times a lot of people don't realize what they have, until they lose it and then it's to late.

My advice to everyone, is to get out and enjoy life together with your loved ones & family and if you happen to be fortunate & smart enough to have a Prado?????

It means that you can have lots of fun and still be a bit safer than you would have been otherwise.

Once again fishnut, I am very pleased that all of you are ok.

          Cheers
          REV

Wow good to hear you came out alright.

Surprised how the snorkel seems undamaged especially when everything around it is busted.

Yep we might all bitch about this and that on things we don't like or Toyota's service or attitude or the problems that a few people are getting but when it comes to the (literal) crunch you have to say the car did a great job of protecting you and yours. Glad you came out ok and now an excuse to upgrade!!!

Have seen a few overturned vehicles with cargo barriers fitted, and the barrier usually prevents head injuries to the rear occupants by keeping the roof fairly intact.

                            Good that everyone is O.K.

Very lucky no on was seriously hurt, good news.

It does not look like any Airbag's deployed? I would not think the front airbag's would go off but at least the side airbags?

                              Do you have side airbag's?

                              Bernie.
