Just a note that the TJM version is made to DEFAUST standards. The Bunnings version is missing the handles but has a moulded recess as the hand grip. I'm not saying that the handles justifies the price difference but so that people are aware of the difference.

The Bunnings version does have the handles as opposed to the website images. ( saw them this arvo)

Maybe an order mix up. My info above was straight from the horse (so to speak).

You're right, Craig. Went to Bunnings and saw the ones with the handles. I queried the horse again and he says to grab the ones from Bunnings while you can. That's a pretty big hint!

Thanks for the tip Andrew! Back to Bunnings for me. (Just need to find a place @ home where I can hide it from SWMBO! )

For a cheaper option, I use this 100L crate from Rays
              http://www.raysoutdoors.com.au/onlin...d=294413#Cross

I have since seen it at Cheap as Chips for $19.95. It is light but very strong. Much much better than the cheap crates you see in the catalogues.

digging up an old thread here but Im looking at a case, thinking about either of these:

                http://www.supercheapauto.com.au/onl...d=325791#Cross

                http://www.anaconda.com.au/Product/C...arge-Spacecase

                http://www.supercheapauto.com.au/onl...d=325790#Cross

might go for the small SCA one as I can then put other items up top, (with the RTT there isnt much left) has anyone had experience with the SCA commando cases? any good?

Also check out Bunnings for the Pelican range. http://www.bunnings.com.au/search/pr...directFrom=Any
I'm not a big fan of butterfly latches, when they are open and another crate slides past it, it gets damaged. Stick with the over centre latch as used by Spacecase. They use these cases in the military.

The Rhino brand seems to be cheaper

I have this one which is good for long narrow stuff and I mount it down the side of the Pioneer platform rack

Also take a look at the Contractorone Cases from Masters. We picked up a large one for around $270 just before the GTG, think it was this one :-

                        https://www.masters.com.au/product/9...ne-case-1200mm

It was a bit problematic on the roof bars but should be fine now we have the Pioneer Platform rack. We only put light things in there and the seals kept everything nice and dry. Yes it has butterfly type latches but they do seal up nice and tight.

I went for the Bunnings Rhino one, its a really good case but with the RTT on I think its too big for my needs, there is about 10-15cm of overhang too so might have to return it or look for something smaller. Here is how it looks on.
