Can totally agree with your comments, but trolling happens weather its on Facebook or forums like PP too. Regarding information used by others, you can limit many options that use private information and keep your profile, photos, access by other users to a minimum. People worried about identity theft or unwanted attention can open accounts with avatar names/ alias and only send out invitations and accept requests from trusted sources. Ive used Facebook for years and have had no adverse problems. Its mainly used to bring all my friends and family together from all over the country and the world to keep in touch and up to date with everything thats going on. This is particularly important for me as I work away allot and is very hard to coordinate having a life outside of work when everyone else is also so busy.
Either way I think the Facebook option is another great tool to help promote the site and introduce the content to others that may be pro FB rather than committed to a forum. Moderators that run the page can control its content and offensive posts can be reported just like here. Either way I hope that the new Facebook page adds a positive spin off to the forum members.
Cheers
