Roof load limits and tent

Gday all,

Im pretty sure the stated roof load limit for the 95 series is 100kg.
So is there a risk of damaging the roof when using a rooftop tent ?

The tent itself is say 60kg, so when you whack a person or two in the tent you are well and truly over the 100kg roof limit.

Anyone have any ideas on this one ?

Im 99% certain that the load rating applies to a moving vehicle.

Yep, it is a figure to include the forces during turning, acceleration & especially braking & the effect of the weight as you go over bumps etc.

In addition, I have to get up into my basket to attach it & if there was a 100kg limit, the rack would have to weigh less than 10kgs! (6 months ago it would have to be pushing up somehow!).

Nothing has broken yet! :shock:
