Doesn't the speed any vehicle will do in second gear depend on the gear ratios and final drive ratios chosen by the manufacturer? One would hope that these are chosen with a view to the performance characteristics and rev range of the engine, so whether the two drive trains perform the same with regards to speed in second gear is entirely academic.
I'm just wondering what the practical use of running a vehicle to 115 in second gear is? Perhaps you are trying to wear it out quicker?
My 1970 Datsun 1600 would do 80mph in second, plenty of bikes will do 115km/hr in first, makes your V6 Prado look average hey! What does it prove? not much.
Could you have brought your Petrol Prado on my Madigans trip earlier this year and carried enough fuel food and water to get you through, I doubt it, the only petrol we had on the trip couldn't carry enough fuel without the diesels helping out.
im enlightened , i have 3 diesels , glad the prado isn't one of them .
03 grande v6 , with added stuff that makes it go places . RTFM people !
