    Used tyre prices

    G'day all. Just thought I'd pick your brains for some info. A mate of mine has some 33 12.5 15 cooper STT's for sale and I think they will be perfect for a little project that I'm working on. 2 are about 50% worn and 4 are 60% worn. They are on 15x8 kings steelies. My problem is that he said to make an offer however I don't have any idea of the going price for 2nd hand tyres and don't want to insult him with a stupid offer. Any help greatly appreciated.

    Use the carton meter method.......1 carton or equivelent in cash per wheel...........no one gets upset and you may even enjoy the benefits of your purchase.

      Not a bad idea D4Dforme. I am aware of the cooper issues but because I know the history of the tyres I'm not too worried. Would never put them on my 150 (as if they'd fit) but I think they should be fine for my bush hack/day trip truck.

            Used tyres and wheels might be cheaper in Kalgoorlie than Melbourne, but 6 dynamic rims alone would sell in the order of $200 without too many worries. With the tyres half worn again would be about the same.

            I recently sold 5 Bridgestone MTZs 32" on black steelies 16x7.5 all about 60% tread for $950 without trying too hard.

            Maybe that's Melbourne though?

              What you putting them on,,,the 15" rims will not go on any Prado

                Thanks for your replies guys. Got the lot for $600 which isn't bad considering the spares never seen the road. fitted up to the old 47 ute this morning. took them out for a run today and was quite impressed with the improvement. still no match for the 150 on atz's! (might need to install some CIG lockers in the old girl!)
