  • Truly awesome camper

Really well designed camper with very clever layout and use of space. If I didn't have kids I'd consider swapping the Prado for a tray back with one of these.

Watch the video to see what it's all about.

    Very good use of space.

One question: Can you have a portable GAS cooker inside a "tent" like this?

Loved the way all the drawers and fridge are accessible from inside and out.

Wonder what the weight of it is?

I have to agree it looks very well thought out, with clever use of space and features.

Looking at the way its built, I reckon it could easily be fitted/adapted to a trailer.

      Any idea of price?

Quality set up! Think I'll keep it in mind for later in life when I'll probably be looking for a bit more comfort. For now...I'm happy to get dirty and rough it a bit more!

I’m impressed. A cleaver design and it can be placed on a trailer. Also love the way it can be lifted easily and the vehicle drive away.

Would consider this one when the time is right.

The 2011 brochure on the website cites $32K as a starting price... not my gig.

I'd have a real good think about it if they chucked in a ute too!
I agree thats a lot of coin, but it does look like a quality unit with lots of convenience, usability, etc.

If they were half the price and produced in the peoples republic, I would be very hesitant to part with my hard earned.

Even if I had $46k I think I'd be having a real good look around as there is a lot of chose for that price range.

I don't have $46k to spend so I don't need to worry too much lol

The other thing is I love my Prado so I'd be looking at putting it on a trailer which would be even more coin.
I would much prefer to support our own manufacturing, especially when quality items are produced.

I am considering going to the next camping show. I will be having a chat with these people if they are there.

Funny so amny are focusing on the price, quality costs.

Some nice ideas in there I might "borrow" for my next camper build

                    Cheers Andrew

I don't mind paying a bit extra for quality and it's great that it's locally made. I came across this on an American site where they were raving about the design.

I think this would be the sort of purchase that you would feel good about everytime that you used it. There's a great feeling that you get when you use a well designed and built bit of gear. Much more satisfying and lasting then the temporary feelgood of having saved money on a cheap knockoff that stops working or doesn't work properly, and I've had plenty of those.

Agree with AJ about borrowing a few of the ideas. Anyone know what sort of latches they are?

I think they are just flush locks like some on this page http://www.ovesco.com.au/products.ph...&subname=Locks and Latches&subsubid=8&subsubname=Southco Products

Normally a lot cheaper than those, I get them locally for about $20 ish, although haven't bought any for a year maybe.

                        Cheers Andrew

46 grand is almost half the value of my retirement present to my self - a full off-road capable van. No more popping up roofs or climbing ladders. More time for the missus to cook my dinner and bring me another coldie from the fridge. 12 more months to go.

What else is there to focus on?

I agree there is quite a few ideas that can be borrowed or recycled.

If I had the time I could set to work on this in my shed straight away. If I had a shed.
