  • Just fitted tigerz11 bullbar and winch (picture attached)

so a quick picture as i have fitted one of these hercules winches and the tigerz 11 commercial bar on the weekend. Very happy. Only issue was holes didnt quite line up with the prado factory ones however my prado had been modified very dodgily to fit a standard glx bullbar before i bought it. So once I got the grinder out and a drill I just had to lop one bolt off, drill it out and replace it either side.

I am pretty happy with it, bullbar was $399 and winch $299 so really cannot go wrong. It even has a wireless remote which works great! I got some really thick gasket sealer out and sealed the whole controller box so its nice and water/dust tight as that appeared to be the only thing dodgy with it. winch controller box just fits under the bonnet looks like it came from the factory like it.

I am in no way affiliated with tigerz 11 but this is a budget tourer for me and i purchased a full length steel roof rack and awaing for $429 6 months ago and couldnt be happier so had a crack at some more gear. I know some people bag out the quality but from what I have experienced they're pretty good, considering the price it all is its great!

So what part of the bullbar did you have to cut the bolt off from? Any hassles fitting the winch? I have the Grande with rope and the bolts were too long and control box cables too short for where I needed to mount it, still have to go and get those lengthened.

They have some pretty good prices if you're on a budget.

Hi mate, there are 5 holes either side on the bullbar and 3 bolts on either side of the part of the prado chassis which attach to bullbar. the Bullbar fitted only on the bottom three holes but the bullbar would be too low then so I lifted it nice and high on the top two, grinded off the bottom bolt on either side, then drilled it out and drilled a new hole slightly lower and put another high tensile bolt through. I am sure with the two it would be enough support but did not want to risk it. The hercules cables were really long, i did not need to extend them at all they were actually perfect length. If the control box was in the middle of the winch the lug where the controller plugs into hit the bonnet so I moved it as far to one side as I could and mounted it there. Have you though about mounting the control box somewhere else? Maybe out of the way somehwere under the bonnet or on top of the bullbar? It does not matter if it is not where it is suppose to be as long as cables are long enough (but I suppose you are already having trouble with it). I looked at grande winch with rope but for what I need it for I could not justify the extra expense. I am off to fraser for easter so will not doubt test it out either on myself or the other 6 trucks coming with me. I will post some pics of the winch mount etc when I get a chance

I couldn't mount the box on top of the bar as I have a 150 Kakadu with front camera. Mounting it either to the right of the winch clutch housing (can't mount it to the left of the winch motor) or up in the engine bay will both require longer cables. It's been looked at by wiser heads then mine and there's no practical alternative short of moving the camera (not an easy job). I just wish for the sake of a few extra $$ they hadn't skimped on the cable length quite so much.

Yes I am pretty happy with it and yes it is Chinese but half of the world is these days, to be honest if you looked at the quality of the bullbar the welds are great, it is heavy as hell and looks like I could drive over anything in my path now so the next thing on the list will be a suspsenison lift to help with the extra weight no doubt! Pretty happy with it overall

I'm putting new front springs on mine, they've been ordered anyway.

You might have to ask some of the guys who have actually done it Jasen, I found a few in the build threads. I've just dropped my winch control box off at the auto sparky to have the cables extended. I am interested in how you extended the camera cables though given the special connector and all.

I was thinking of putting in a 2" lift from Ironman as the pricing looks pretty good and seems to be pretty good reviews from others who have had the kit put in.
