  • Exhaust jacks and turbos?

    Hi
Anyone have any FACTUAL info regarding the use of exhaust jacks on turbo'd vehicles?

Seems there's opinions that the induced back pressure from the jack may stuff the turbo seals so I'd like some reality thought on this.
Not interested in idiots starting a exhaust versus high lift discussion, just keep it to the question please.

    Thanks

How long does it take to inflate from a compressor?

Endless Air, thats cheating! Taking my own thread off topic but how do you like it?

Yes I want to get one but don't want to bugger my turbo. Portable compressor is an option but dragging it out and setting it all up is a pain - but then so is being stranded.

Any other words on the turbo issues anyone?

Not on the Turbo issue, but just be aware about the shape of the end of your exhaust, we tried a couple of these on my Prado at the GTG, due to the tapered end on the 120 exhaust we couldn't get them to inflate as they wouldn't seal over the exhaust. Fortunately another Prado with a square ended exhaust was available to pump them up.

Who sells the Endless Air compressors? Never seen them for sale in Oz.

My trucks a 95 with a gun barrell exhaust so it should seal ok. I'm suprised a square pipe sealed though.

Square as in cut perpendicular to the axis. The pipe is still round.

Square as in a round pipe cut at 90 degrees (cut square to the length), as opposed to mine that is cut at an angle.

                Right, gotcha

Thought a square pipe would have been a bit out of place on a 4x4...
