Feel very sorry for you, hopefully you will get some recourse through the storage company, they must have there own insurance? As a number got turned over it would be easier for them to make one big claim then you claim of them?? I still feel optimistic for you as the goods got stolen from a storage business not your own home!! Good idea providing your own keys, sounds like a friend of a friend of a friend etc(?!).... FWIW when I go to take my cars in for a service I'm very conscious of removing all my keys (not ignition) and the electric garage door transponder from the car key ring (if on). So many guys now have these reflash devices (decode devices).Possibly too anal but I'd rather play safe than sorry!!

Camper trailer now at home again, got a call today to say the complex was broken into again last night. Signed a 12 month lease but thanks to a smooth talking lawyer wife we got out of it at no cost and a months refund. They managed to get into our 'secure' shed again but got nothing! I removed everything bar the camper and had it locked up well. No damage either.

Spoke to the complex owner and police today, each time I saw csi ads on tv1 tonight I had a chuckle. They could get finger prints from sand on the beach, not springwoods finest! Lucky to get it off of glass I was told today.

I had a car stolen years ago which eventually turned up trashed & written off after being joyridden. There was black fingerprint dust all over it and when i asked about it the coppers reply was along the lines of "yeah thats stuff's there to make you feel better so you think we may actually catch someone" I just looked at him a bit bewildered then laughed and said oh well it's not my problem, it's insured.

Horatio would have caught them though, and have a retarded one liner to slam them with while taking off his sunnies.

          Cheers

We got done again 2 days ago by the same bloke. This time I was next door (we even have a gate between our properties!) & in the 1-2 hours I was there they managed to ransack the back of the house & go around the front park on the nature strip & load up 18-20 batteries into their ute - 2 of these were huge fork lift batteries. I hope the bugger did his back.

Called cops straight away left everything as is except I did as I thought Horatio would & took photos etc - even found a pair of prescription glasses on nature strip beside the ute's tyre tracks & a 1'2 bottle of beer left from 1st heist. As there had been rain earlier the coppers said no chance for fingerprints & as they did not get inside the house this time the sergeant was not even willing to file a report or send out any fingerprint guys.

We have building but no contents insurance so bad luck there too

I'll bet Horatio would have at least sprayed some luminol

Just to clarify, I only ever have my electric garage door fob on the same ring as car key (easier opening), its this I always take off, its not a key but to me it is...if you know what I mean!!!

Now is the time to start vigilantes setting up to crap all over these druggies who are only after goods for drug money. Sorry to hear about these robberies and will keep a special eye out for deals.
