Hi there, sorry if this has been asked but I did do a google and on here and nothing really answered my question. These bar lights seem to work really well. They even seem to have some that are spread and spot beam in one. The thing I really know jack sh*t about is the price of these things and general specs. Is it the usual you get what you pay for ?? Or are some that sell these things rely on people like myself who know nothing about them to pay a fortune and get the same results as the cheaper ones I have seen ?? I would really like to purchase one but have no idea about wattage, spread, spot, legality, and /or where to purchase eg locally or from over seas ?? what wattage is best for optimum light etc..........Cheers Steve

I'm with you Steve. We need a data base with brand, size, wattage, mount type, light output rating, a pic of the light throw ??? It's a lot of coin to spend on the promise in an advertisement ![U]Matt

I have a Chinese import 22'' bar from Hansa products..........It's 2 rows with combonation spot/spread 120w.......
So far so good it really helps to "fill in" around the headlights, the only downside with this particular light so far has been the black anodizing..........it turned golden brown after about a week in the sun......
For the price i paid i'm more than happy......$140 landed...Put it this way the Narva driving light kit was $110 sourced locally......So i can't complain about the light for $140.
Sure there are better ones around but i'm happy with my purchase and the outlay costs.
DanCan I still play now I have a 200 series?........Had a 2008 120 Series D4D Manual 6 Speed...STANDARD White, Soverign Bar..........Rear Cage........Dashmat.......GX Wheels with Good Year Dura Tracs........Bilstein/Dobbo 2'' lift.....Safari Snorkel....Canvas Seat Covers.....20%tint..........55W HID Headlights.....Mudmats front and rear.....
22'' Lightbar......

Not a fan of LED lights, they are more a gimmick to me, nothing beats a good set of quality HID or Halogen driving lights, and I don't mean the chinese HID. The best and easiest way to get more lighting power out of your headlights is to upgrade the wiring of them also.97 VX Grande, with front & rear air lockers, ARB Sahara winch bar with tigers 11 winch, 2" EFS lift, 265/75/16 Achilles Desert hawk XMT, and more.

Led bars
In QLD it is illegal to have 1 single one they need to be in pairs.
If you do install 1 it needs to be blanked out in the middle as per the link below.

You should check out what regulations are required in your state.

Good old qld, and their over the top stupid rules, however in saying that I have seen a lot of 4bys with the led light bars and haven't heard of anyone being picked up. I guess it just takes one pissed off cop to enforce them tho.Originally posted by Ron.H. View PostIn QLD it is illegal to have 1 single one they need to be in pairs.

Hi there croozza, I do have a set of light force up front but both spot, I could I suppose change one to a spread but I do like the fact they do really well lighting up the distance in front but like the other reply I think the bar would fill in the other dead lit areas in front of my vehicle. I do have upgraded wiring loom etc. Not sure yet how I would even mount to the sovereign bar on my Prado. I'm going to caravan n camping show next week so will see if anyone has any specials going on them..... Cheers SteveFace lift 150 Prado V6 auto. No mods yet

I have recently upgraded my IPF 900 to 70 Watt HIDS. Very happy, but HIDS take a little while to warm up and dont give the full closer vision. As such I am going to intstall a 30 inch LED bar on the bullbar. This will give me the best vision I can hope for.
LED bars are b=generally measured in Lumens and the New-Pro tech brand is the best I have found to date.Bitumen: A blatant waste of taxpayers money!

I love my hid's 70w is probably overkill as you get a fair bit of shine back from signs.

I would highly recommend the Aurora light bars.
http://www.ledsunlimited.com.au/alo-...light-bar-200w
If you want quality at a decent price. Aurora seem very high quality for me and the supplier above has actually been to the factory and made comparisons himself between them all. I have seen these first hand and they are simply amazing. 5 watt leds and what seems to be some pretty high quality lenses which make a big difference.
I actually ordered one and cancelled the order as the legalities of it all in NSW is just way too unclear. I want to use mine on the road as well as off road. HID spotties been there done it 3 times and are old technology.

If you use these LED light bars the way they were designed for, they are great. Their not designed to throw a beam 1K down the road, that's what a good set of HID's spots are made for. LED bars are designed for closed in track driving, camping, or brightnening up the sides of roads and corners. I have 4 round LED floods on my 120 and work great for the purpose they were designed for, but I am keeping my eyes open for a nice 20" LED bar.

I agree with you to an extent Bazza and I use to fully support that argument.... until... a good friend who i went on an outback trip with last year drives a TJ Jeep has one of these in 50" on the link posted above. He also spent $1500 on Lightforce XGT HID's and the light bar craps all over them. The HID's look so dull and the beam so small in the distance.Originally posted by Bazza View PostIf you use these LED light bars the way they were designed for, they are great. I would love to see a 50" LED light bar out range( long distance ) a set of quality HID's. When that happens, like you, I to will change my view.Originally posted by vxcruiser08 View PostI agree with you to an extent Bazza and I use to fully support that argument.... until... a good friend who i went on an outback trip with last year drives a TJ Jeep has one of these in 50" on the link posted above.
