Changing Oil Filter On 120 Petrol

Thought this may be a helpful tip for anybody with a 120 petrol V6, just placing 1.25L coke bottle or in my case diet coke bottle (any of these type will do) under the oil filter catch out let making sure the little metal spout is inserted into bottle so when you crack the oil filter open it just runs straight into bottle and saves oil and shit running down the side of your engine or/and over drive belts and hoses. Then spray a tad of degreaser or brake cleaner around the base and it flushes it out into the bottle then wack the lid back on all done. I have tried a few different things and found this to be the quickest easiest and cleanest way.......[IMG][/IMG]Cheers Steve

The TD has a hose that runs down to beside the sump plug so it drains straight into your drain pan, has yours been lost?

Hi Matt an just some stupid things Toyota do. My diesel use to have it down to the sump as well but none of the 120 V6's have the tube connected. I don't mind it though only takes a second to spray a tad of degreaser to flush into the bottle so no oil residue left...... Cheers Steve
