My panels arrived the other day. Just waiting on the MPPT controller to arrive.

In the meantime, what's the good oil on deep cycle batteries?

It seems sealed is the way to go. What's generally trusted and reliable in the current context?

I'm looking at the options available to keep my two CF50 fridges powered for about five days without the need to run the vehicle too often. I'll have one fridge as a freezer and the other as a fridge. I have a new 130A marine battery under the bonnet as the accessory battery. If the weather was good, would a 120w solar panel produce enough power to keep these fridges going? I'll also have a 1K Honda generator available if absolutely necessary.

Bazz, I took some good advice of a mate before we left for our oz trip, Get a battery charger to run of your geny

I run a 16amp battery charger off my geny as the honda 2k geny only puts out 8 amps directly from the charging port.

I have 2x80 watt panels on the van roof and the most i get on a cracker day is just over 10amps/h. Im not tracking the sun as they are fixed so amperage input for us is variable from day to day. Most i have put back in on a good day is about 60amp/h.

2 x CF50's . fridge/freezer - ambient temps outside ? how many times you open close them ? There is alot of variables. you really need to have some sort of amperage draw figures from your weaco's to do the math

If i had to do it again i would of doubled up on solar panels

      Good luck with mate.]
