Happy New Year!! We had an awesome start to the New Year by going in to Sydney for a great party at my sister's place and seeing the fireworks for the first time in donkey's years I enjoyed every minute of the 15 minute presentation, it was fabulous.

We wish every PradoPoint member and their families every happiness and good health (including the Prado!). Mav that goes double for your family.

                          New Year Resolution

                          Hi Guys,
Happy New Year from me too.

My New Year resolution is to be a better family man. I aim to get the whole family more involved in 4WDing this year! Spent Sunday afternoon out at Long Point (between Orange and Mudgee on the Macquarie River). I even let the missus drive this time!

As I side issue - I want to get a base unit UHF - but the language at times is inappropriate for the kids ops: and the wife is not overly impressed with foul language either. Any thoughts or tips here guys? Should this be a new thread?

                          regards

Gday Simmo, prob should be a new post but oh well !

You can use a UHF as a base station, If you are buying a new UHF they all come with CTCSS or privacy tones standard these days, select a tone up in the middle, you have 38 to choose from, then you will not hear anyone elses crap, you of course need to have it enabled on all your radios, as the only conversations you will hear with it turned on will be your own. This works a treat and can be enabled or disabled on a per channel basis. Not many people use it and the chances of ever clashing are very remote ! This is not private, as anyone can still hear you, you just cant hear them
PM me with all the model UHFs you have already and I will confirm for you if they have CTCSS or not.

This is the cheap basic GME, it actually has 50 CTCSS tones ! not 38 per my previous post ops:
