Happy New year ladies and gents!!!

I have finally woken up after working all night last night and its time to do the daily round up

Joey, Where abouts in Newcastle are you from??? I live in waratah but grew up in the Toronto area.

With all these Novocastrians around maybe we need to do a renuion drive... or our own form to play in, there's enough of us. We are edging up on the sandgropers

            Happy New Year everyone

My new-year's resolution is to happily await the next 3 months before the new D4D Prado arrives from Toyo. All this without complaining the wait it tooooo long. "Yeh Right".

Also start to acquire new mods in anticipation for the new arrival: Already have new 40Ltr Engel fridge + fridge slide and have material for new self-made rear storage drawers " Like Chippy's" (Great Mod)

Also, not to take life too seriously and have plenty of 4wd and camping trips out of Brisbane with the help of other adventurous PradoPointers.

            Gordo
Expected Mid March 2008 - Prado GXL 3.0L D4D 5 Speed Auto, Powder White, Opt Pack 1, ARB Colour-coded Steel Bullbar, Bonnet Protector, Headlight Protectors, Weathershields, roofrack, Colour-coded Spare Wheel Cover, Reverse Park Assist, Roof Rails, 2500kg Tow Bar.

All the other accessories that the wallet wont pay for yet.

Don't know about starting the year with a bang . . . but certainly finished with a bang.

Planned on going away New Years Eve to catch up with friends that are camping down at Coolendel (very nice camping ground inland from Nowra on the Shoalhaven River).

The missus took my work car out to get a few supplies. She forgot something so reversed back into the driveway. Don't know how, but the car must have been left in neutral. Car rolled down driveway and ran into back of Prado. Only narrowly missed my wife (by about 30cm!).

Spare wheel took the full brunt of the impact. Rear door has been dented with force of rear wheel pushing back. Rear wheel cover smashed. Car was in gear with hand brake on and was pushed forward 30cm. Bullbar smashed through gyprock garage wall and cracked/dislodged two studs.

Now to the other car . . . . it's stuffed! Rear bumper smashed. Rear boot buckled. Rear quarter panel buckled. Rear glass shattered. (8 month old VE Commodore Berlina!)

Have phoned a couple of panel beaters. Guess what . . . they are all on holidays!

Needless to say, our NYE was spent at home and was very subdued. At least no one was hurt.

Prado panel gaps all look uniform. Insurance of Commodore will cover repairs. Want to make sure that chassis of Prado and everything else is all good.

So far 2008 has been without incident.

Hope you all have a great year.

              Cheers - Byrnsie

I missed out on any bang - the wife was away holidaying with the kids, while I worked...

Given a choice... (no, I won't go there...)

Seriously though, I'm glad no one was hurt - you sometimes hear of tragedies happening this way. I hope you get the cars sorted real soon.
