Someone mentioned Vero :?: . AAMI, Sun Royal Alliance, Vero are all part of Promina Group.

I'll fess up ops: - I sunk a Prado that had just done 1700kms in a salt water lake. At the time of the incident, I thought oh my gosh there goes 55k and no vehicle. As usual made the claim and AAMI came to the party and paid out the claim in full . Been with AAMI ever since. Recently informed AAMI about the suspension and tyre upgrade all covered. I had to walk into a branch to get the suspension upgrade added to the agreed value. The stupid call centre gal, said its covered but cannot increase the agreed value. I suppose it pays to find out atleast a couple of times.

The funny part is the car ended up in Lebanon, the fella who bought off the AAMI auction shipped the salt water dipped playdo. Maybe he flooded it with fish oil :!: :!:

Tried AAMI - however, I was flat out getting an agreed value of $47,000 including all mods and accessories.

        update

Thought I'd give an update after my colleague Fungi2003 tried to get a quote for a similar price. He's was still rather high but that was due to his age.
But what he did discover for me was that my policy quote was for a 3 door. if I was in Dubai...
I promptly called them back, only to find it was indeed the wrong vehicle...hmm
Anyway, it's been fixed including the price so now 68k for $786, everything else the same as before for $2 extra. I could have had $738 by nominating only 2 drivers, this is most likely my scenario but you never know.

Just done the exercise with QBE.
Because of new for old 4yrs / 100,000kms replacement on brand new vehicle, there is no agreed or market value.
Listed all accessories. No extraordinary mods.
Premium just under $1k.....the price for living in Sydney !

How many of you have insured for the purchase price, instead of RRP :?: Because, if its Agreed Value you can insure for RRP (Toyos list price). As per my previous post AAMI honoured the agreed value instead of new for old replacement. In the PDS you can opt to have replacement or agreed value paid out.

Back in the days when I was a wee lad, I negotiated a sweet deal with an insurance mob.
At the time I worked for a Govt company and enquired about the rating one prices although I had never had car insurance. Most companies were happy to offer it if I could prove I had a clean driving record with my current employer and my boss was prepared to sign a letter to verify that.
I initially phoned one company ensuring this would suffice to go straight to rating one and then continued to get a quote.
1/2 an hour later I phoned them back deciding to take the quote, and promptly paid over the phone with credit card.
One year later I changed companies!!!
They never asked or checked any prior history etc, everyone just assumed it had been done.
I am still a rating one so I guess they got their moneys worth anyway.

                hmmm decisions...

need to renew insurance today... 2006 Auto V6

Done a heap of online quotes and like QBE's premium for agreed values ratio except their excesses are nasty.... std $500 + imposed $1125 (which from playing with the numbers comes from 25% of non-std accessories). So, $813 for $58k (cheapest that it will quote at, which is silly as that's pretty much new price)

AAMI (cute girl on advert!) only allow mkt value via online (which gives you a $75 disc over ringing up). So I rang and was told that a staff member could do agreed value (loose ability to get online disc). they said the quoted mkt value (from website) does contvert to an agreed value (which the policy wording sort of implies). $615 online @ $44,300

or stick with current RACV (which has gone UP from last year... I rang and they claimed the general reasons... not very convincing) $764 mkt value, $870 @ agreed $44k. hmm.. that's not very good, basically AAMI's for $255 more!

                Just thinking out aloud...

                Cheers, Nige

Excess is $500.

I've been with Budget Direct for about 5 years now, last years premium on the Prado was $1079.00 but I've since had a vew more accessories and a couple of mods fitted, namely the OME suspension and headers, so I rang them this morning to get an updated estimate. They told me they need to check with the underwriters of the policy regarding the modifications, so I'm still waiting to hear back.
In the meantime I rang CGU for their price and was told $2026.00  , based on a agreed value of $45k and all the accessories and mods. I couldn't hang up quick enough.
We have all our house and contents, landlord insurances and greenslips with NRMA, they weren't concerned too much about the mods though the fact that I had a school zone infringement bumped the cost up another $50.00. So with the vehicle being leased, living in Sydney, agreed value of $45k, a black dot on my otherwise excellent record and all accessories etc, plus multiple policy discount, they quoted $1127.00 plus $600.00 excess.
I guess this just the price you pay for living in NSW .

I just went through the exercise:

                        NRMA $1500.39
                        AAMI $1731.00
                        GIO $1136.96
                        DGA $1700.00
                        QBE $1326.00

They're all a bit steep, I'm currently with TCIS and I'll stick with them since they cover my camping gear...
At least until my renewal is due.

I'm with Vero threw the Bank of Queensland and the last renewal was about $690. So by the looks of it cheap compared to the other quotes on here. So I'm very happy!

And next year it will drop some more when my wife is over 30!
