  • Stolen 120 Prado in Mandurah

    Hi,

I had my 2004 120 Prado stolen about a month ago and I'm just wondering if any one has seen it around. I know it's been stripped to an extent as some parts are turning up on gumtree but a friend is sure he saw it on Lakes Rd on Tuesday morning around 6:30am minus all my bar work. He discribed it as still having a safari snorkel, my pro comp mags and 3" lift with Icon shockies. He also said some stickers had been added to the side panels and one of those grey spare wheel hard covers was on the back. It was being driven by some young guys who quickly took off when they saw my mates car. It's possible it's not my car but any help in tracking it down would be appreciated so I can find out, I'll give a reward for any info that results in it being recovered. Below are some pics of it, along with the bar work the V6 4000 sticker will be missing from the rear side panels.

    Wade

That is one sweet Prado Wade and would definitely get my head turning - quite unique too with those rims, rear bar, side steps and so fourth (provided they are still on it).

I'll make sure I keep an eye out and let you know.

Just wondering, if parts from it have come up on gumtree, have you thought of either providing the details to Police or maybe making some enquiries yourself?

Yeah the cops are onto the gumtree items, hopefully the seller will give them all the info they need. They haven't been very proactive though, I've had to do all the detective work myself. But anyway be careful about buying any prado parts off gumtree atm, especially anything TRD or Icon. I feel for the guys who have bought some of my parts already, I doubt they'll get their money back.

I'm a FIFO worker, they got in my house on the Easter weekend just after I flew out. So they all the time in the world to fill the car up with home contents and grab the bike as well.

So I'm guessing monitored alarm is on the to do list

Almost 90% of cars are stolen following the thieves breaking in to your home/office/ work place and grabbing the keys. Hot wiring ignitions is virtually unheard of these days unless you own a pre 90s bunky.

Should have a nice sweet sound to it as well with the exhaust, some thing else to listen out for if we see it around, although I doubt we will see it over this way, but you never know .....Cheers Steve

Yeah it didn't take long to get an alarm system installed after that, a GPS tracker will be on the top of the list for my next car too. Sadly the old girl has been cut up with an oxy torch so the best I can expect is to recover my aftermarket parts and get the pricks convicted. Worst part is I'll never know what power I was making in the end, I just took the TRD blower up to 9PSI afew weeks before it was stolen and had it booked in for a dyno run the very break I flew home to find it missing. The exhaust did sound sweet Steve but not as sweet as the whine from the supercharger, it was a very addictive sound.
Oh well I guess I'll be making a few posts in the for sale section soon.
