  • Custom Illuminated Warning Lights

I am about to install a water separator from these people (http://responsiveengineering.com.au/).

The kit comes with a warning buzzer and a dinky little warning light - that I would like to replace with a nice light that fits into one of the slot switches and displays an icon when illuminated that looks meaningful - perhaps like the standard light on the dashboard that displays if there is water in the fuel.

Does anyone know of anyone makes warning lights/switches that fit into the slots on the dash that have these custom faces. I remember seeing an advertisement for them one time but do you think I can remember where?

Gav not sure if there will be anything that fits in place of the switch blanks but you could always pick up an LED for a few $ from Jaycar and fit it to a blank. Much the same as the Redarc trailer brake remote controller.

I mounted my EGT display in the panels next to the idle up switch. I also mounted my spotlight switch here. I can let you know that every one of those removable blanking plugs is completely different. No 2 are alike. Toyota has deliberately done this to stop people like me from fitting none genuine accessories - or so they think. I used soldering iron to cut the holes to shape.

Ok, I now drive an FJ Cruiser but did have an 90 series Prado for 11 years and before that, 4Runners from 1985.
