Maybe I'll have another peek inside one. Is definitely a few years since I've had a look.
V6... Zowie will be doing large amounts of hi'way driving over the next year or so... so the v6 will be good for that.

We tossed and turned on the Kluger, would love one but I was being a tight ass and did not want to pay rego for a 6.

Leon, I think you wil find that with the highway driving and knowing where she is driving to the additional fuel cost would be minimal. My neighbour has a Territory diesel and is not impressed with the fuel comsumption (9.0lts/100) I have been in them they go really well for a diesel though. Problem is resale is terrible compared to the Toyota, the quality however appear quite good maybe an alternative? By the way my Falcon gets on an average 9.5lts/100 and as Leon can attest the driving can be described as "spirited"
      Richo.

Sorry Richo, will never buy a Ford. Mostly from my younger years when dad was a silent partner in a car yard... every Ford he brought home would have something go wrong with it.
... and sadly, it seems nothing has changed.
Friends of ours sold their 120 Prado a few years ago and got a Ford Territory. What a mistake that was. Electrical gremlins all through it. To the point half the features they up-spec'd to haven't worked in the couple of years they've owned it.
The entire computer/disply system on the dash (that basically controls everything) has been replaced twice and both times came back still not working... each time they have to 'special order' it so it takes 4 or 5 weeks. They can't even use the AC properly because they can't see what the dials are saying.
Another friend went from a Territory to an X5 and said the fuel savings between those two cars was huge. She now owns a Kluger and says she would happily buy another one.

Anyway, long story short... No Fords for me thanks

And yes... spirited would be one word How long does the trip home take? and how long should it take

Hasn't the EURO 4 (?) pedestrian safety specs done that to all cars?

What sort of driving? Lots of city, or up and down the hill to Mt Tamborine?

Pretty much all suburban driving. A lot of stop/start driving with the occasional run up and down the motorway. Never used for towing. It had some Rhino rack HD's on the roof, but i can't recall ever carrying anything. Air conditioning was always on.

It was always driven much harder than the Prado, so there's definately scope to reduce the fuel consumption, but the few people i know who've owned Klugers or driven them for work have said that they thought they were thirsty cars. Great to drive though, and never had any problems with it.

Nah, there's heaps of room. We have the space saver tyre though. The Rav is a city car only for us, for country and off road we have the Prado. And if I need to pick up anything big I have a Hiace SLWB. There is loads of leg and head room in the back seats, which is what I was talking about.
                              Cheers
