  • ARB Touring roof rack options

Guys, my first mod coming up to my 150 series and would like some opinions on fitting a ARB touring rack to the car for my roof top tent.

I've got an opportunity to pick one up for $300 which is like new. However, i'm thinking how practical they actually are compared to standard cross roof racks.

I'm not going to be doing any serious touring any time soon, and the rack looks like an inconvenience to use when the RTT is not loaded onto it as the space looks very impractical.

Any care to share some comments.

edit: for those who don't know what the ARB touring rack looks like.

Please see attached example i found on the internet.

We've got a normal ARB roof rack on our 120 and I find I am quite often throwing things up there. I reckon $300 for one of those is a steal.

Is it alloy or steel? You can only carry 100kg on the roof.

I personally think they are to high i wish they made one that was just a mesh floor platform with no front back or sides that would be excellent

Its a steel rack, it looks fine when your got your RTT mounted on it. But seems a bit impractical when you driving day to day use/ bunnings run or anything simular.

I think that the Rhino Rack Pioneer Platform is pretty good.

It's what I'll be using for my Roof Top Tent and the rack can permanently stay on the vehicle because of its low profile...
