Another vote for CT18. I use a garden sprayer to apply (like the ones you use weed killer for but I have it marked with black pen for car wash only). I spray it in the wheel arches and everywhere I can reach underneath, including in the chassis rails. I normally don't put it on the paint work.
    !
I then wash the rest of the car then spray it off last. Awesome stuff and gets a red dust from the Murchison off well!

The Karcher with the jet hose attachment is great for running through he chassis rails and hard to reach spots through bash plates etc. If you use it to wash out the engine bay, use the nozzle that can reduce the pressure to a medium fan. Too much pressure over the intercooler and radiator will distort the fins. I give the rig some truck wash and also use a can of engine degreaser every service to get everything nice and shiny again.

          CT-18 has got my vote.
Bought a Hills 1.5lt garden sprayer called a 360 just to apply the pre. wash soak mix. This unit works at all angles so its Ideal for spraying under wheel arches and the chassis etc. http://hills.com.au/~/media/PRODUCTS...hx?h=126&w=168
Has anyone tried the Staun Massojet range?

No thumbs up or vote for CT18 it's too strong on the paint for a new cars/4WD, if you got paint protection then you don't anymore. BUT if everyone's comments are in regrds to underbody cleaning and the engine bay then yes I agree CT18 for those scenarios. If anything to make the outside of cleaning of the body easier make sure you've done a good wash and a couple of coats of good wax(not a cut and polish) wax. I do the bonnet and roof more regularly as they see the sun more often but cleaning is so much easier when the paint is being looked after.

Also if you have a local Harvey Distributors they have bulk handy cleaning products/equipment for cleaning your 4WD not a plug but they just have good stuff. If you want some thing a little stronger for underbody red dirt stains and other grease, bugs and what not get some TW20 Truckwash from them. It's a spray on mix with water leave for a bit and wash off product. They also have other stronger products but speak to a rep with what you are using it on for advice.

Paint protection (and carpet protection) is a product that car dealers use to get more money out of you (and most times use a good looking sales lady to seal the deal). Most, if not all new vehicles come with a clear coat of paint that protects the colour coat. If you want paint protection spend money on a good wax product and use it after you have washed your vehicle using... CT18.

Used some of the neighbors CT18 once after a big weekend of driving. I noticed after having used the CT18, water would no longer bead on the paint work, having removed the wax protection. Probably wont use CT18 again for this reason.

Yes they get more money out of you, but most people are lazy and paint protection and carpet protection work for a period of time after the car is purchased and help keep that new car look with water beading of the paint and drinks not soaking into the interior carpet long enough to get a cloth onto them. I wouldn't ever bother with it as I know how to look after my 4WD's paint and interior.

Yes most cars/4WD's do have a clear coat finish and this is why you shouldn't use a cut and pollish compound on them, but they certainly aren't there solely for protecting the paint. Your paint or clear coat what ever you want to call it needs looking after and a good quality wax every now and then will help this.

Truck wash will take the wax off so if you do use it upstairs then wax. No need to wax downstairs......

Though a snow foam, followed by truck wash, a shampoo, clay bar and re-wash, prep wax, wax and then polish is the go. Then a glass polish. And a wheel clean. Then a mud bath. Oops.

It feels like that some days. A few minutes of fun followed by a few hours cleaning.

interesting, as I have not found this to be the case at all...I washed the prado with CT 18 on Saturday morning...thats why it has been raining almost ever since.......and the in-laws commented on how well the rain was beading on the paintwork and how shiny the car was....I don't use much CT18 in a bucket of water, perhaps you used quite a bit....but honestly, I have not had a problem with CT 18, and the water still beads very nicely on both our cars.
It is a good point though, as you do need to be careful to use the right product, but also follow the instructions...I know of a vehicle fleet that used "Truck Wash" for every day vehicle washing (not trucks), and they had issues with corrosion before the vehicles were out of warranty, and the issue was traced back to the "truck wash"... and ever since it is no longer used for general vehicle washing and the corrosion problem has not been repeated...so it does pay to b sure to use the correct product and the correct amount of product when washing your car..IMHO
I promise not to wash my car this weekend...rain rain go away....
