rags...it's a tricky decision, you'll possibly loose your deposit if you pull out of the deal! I've mentioned in other threads I'd go the V6 petrol if I bought again but the old KZ's are honest old beasts. I recently installed a Beaudesert exhaust (2.75") and it just seems to want to go a bit more. It sounds less agricultural and seems more willing to pull! Was on the beaches recently and I had to go through a high creek (messed up the tide times), it ploughed through it like a Fendt tractor. I only bought it for weekends and holiday vacations and it does what it says on the tin! I recommend getting an aftermarket exhaust, new injectors >200K will make it run smoother for not much dough (@400 $)?If I was driving it every day, it may drive me mad but for my needs it's perfect. It's a shame you'll loose your deposit...that would have paid for the above work...the choice is yours!!!?? BTW I'm crap at mechanics, so the older school the better for me![SIZE=1]03 TD 120 Grande, L&R weathershields, f&r deflectors, Sov bar Amts rad b.pl, TJM front B.P, Uniden UH7760NB Kaymar LED worklight, ARB 47l, lifestyle rack & Milford C. Thanks macaroon you are suggesting what i am thinking,as like you it is not my daily driver . The other thing with the old is i do do the basic oil/filter service items and save a dollar there, whereas the new service costs can run between $350 to $750 and maybe more. I won't make a discission until i see how Mazda handles the wifes car issue and what the problem is.Originally posted by macaroon1 View Postrags...it's a tricky decision, you'll possibly loose your deposit if you pull out of the deal! ...No probs! Off topic I notice from your signature you have a powder coated grey sovereign bulbar? I guess you did not do this yourself, is there any chance of a pic out of interest! Like the bars, just dull really badly. Sometimes I think of getting it professionally done ..when I'm bored! Thx. I know it's sad John, shame shame shame on me, but I just wish the 150 had a bit more go about it, TBH i'll probably go a 200 unless the Rangie turns out to be really really special as it's a lot to spend on a car to take off road. If the 150 had a nice V6 twin turbo diesel in them they would be an awesome rig but when it comes to towing they really are lacking IMO. As a daily driver they are great though. When I get something with more grunt I'll still keep our 150 and get rid of SWMBOs lexus as I hate that car (it's just so gay).Originally posted by Talktheroo View PostGo the 150s, ah, James

Once you try a 200 you want wont to get out, pure grunt right through the rev rangeOriginally posted by jss View PostTBH i'll probably go a 200 unless the Rangie turns out to be really really special as it's a lot to spend on a car to take off road.

Yep 2 of my mates have them and I've driven them & towed with them heaps of times, both theirs are chipped with exhausts too so they bloody fly. TBH the only reason I went Prado this time was because SWMBO liked it better and at the time I wasn't going to be doing much towing with it. RULE NO#1 Never ever let your Mrs pick the cars.Originally posted by QUICKY View PostOnce you try a 200 you want wont to get out, pure grunt right through the rev range

Don't know that I agree, the 6VTTA is a superb engine.Originally posted by Talktheroo View PostV6 in a diesel, not a good idea.
In line is the way to go for diesels, well, small diesels anyway.

With Kevin's new FBT rules I think I'll have to stick with my old Prado a bit longer now.Last edited by Corigator; 16-07-2013, 06:00 PM.Greg - 08 D4D Prado,

They have weak clutches and front diffs. I personally know an owner of an ARB shop that is on his third clutch in a brand new 70 series.Originally posted by gumboot View PostHad a good read up on the 70series GXL wagon last night.
If i didn't have a prado that would be sitting in the driveway. ( V8 TDiesel, Live axles, bigger tyres, diff locks each end).
