What a disgrace. Exactly why I never ever let dickheads work on my car.. I scope a workshop out for a bloody long time before I trust them with my Prado. I ensure when I leave it at a workshop (and I only trust one locally) that I'm a prick to deal with and I will break heads if my car is flogged or damaged in any way.

I remember when I had to take the 150 in for it's 1000km service and the Toyota wankers test drove it, gunning the engine to 3600rpm when the engine was so new.. Trust me, the dealer principle and his service manager got drilled until I was finished abusing them... Ya gotta love the Scangauge for logging RPM and speed !

Now the dealership has changed hands and much more trustworthy people work there.

Hope the dickheads you have to sort out look after you Steve. If they screw you, ring Ray Hadley and drill the clowns publicly.

I'd want the b@st@rd's @rse on a platter. I'd want him sacked, deservedly, and i wouldnt accept anything less. His boss would be crazy to keep him. How many others' vehicles have copped this crap?
And I'd hand your footage on to the coppers to boot - he deserves to be fined as well - several counts there to be seen.
Left wondering how good the install is if that's the care he takes with your car. Couldnt even get the correct parts in - though maybe I'd keep TJM over Ironman.
I'll be watching with bated breath to see where this all finishes for you.

WOW. I know exactly who did your suspension as soon as this video started. Very disappointing mate. They did my HSV a few years ago and took it on that exact same route to test -however I was driving! I was always suspicious of the holden mechanics too, trashing the crap out of it when i had it serviced as the L/100kms jumped up so freaking high.

What an awesome idea for the dashcam. Good luck, let us know the outcome!

Not naming until I see what the outcome is. It wasn't the boss's fault but he will see it at 8.30am tomorrow morning and we will see what happens. They were doing my locker in 2 weeks time but at the moment they wont be touching my daughters bike let alone my prado......Cheers Steve

So tempted to be there in the morning Steve when you give it to him. You're not having any luck around Penrith workshops, remembering when they stuffed up your snorkel in the 90. They were taking chances with your suspension on its first outing over the humps. He'll probably say he was just testing it. Definitely getting one of those cams.

Na mate I got all the old stuff back so if I sell it down the track I can put original stuff back in. And amongst all that I forgot to add they cracked the weather shield which I did tell the manager before I drove off, that may have been the wheel alignment blokes not sure but he has said he will get a new one for it. So much for finally getting it done and been excited, think blood pressure is slowly starting to come down till I get there tomorrow morning.....Cheers Steve

hey Steve, windows has it's own video editor, and if using apple it does as well.
Just goes to show you really need to scope your mechanic/ repairer.
I normally take a drive pst and park down the road to watch and see how the test drive cars after repairs before I send any of my cars there.

Getting one of these cameras, this is the main reason I want one, for when it goes in for a service.

Hopefully they threw your old stuff away.

By the sounds from the video and only a hunch but it sounds like coils knocking each other when the driver brakes or goes around corners.. so probably not...

What kind of people do this to other people's pride and joy! Glad that dashcam investment paid off alright at the end. Hopefully, they are not smart enough to disconnect the power next time.

Hope you go to town on them. And to install the wrong make of suspension just to top it off - fools.

A couple of questions about your dash cam:

How is the speed determined? Is the dashcam got gps to determine, or is this somehow linked to your vehicle to determine speed?
What is the maximum time of recording you can do on it?
Is your cam wired for power, or battery operated. If battery operated, what is its operating time?

Lastly, where did you get your cam from?

Yeah, its got its own GPS. Main reason, I went for this instead of GoPro route.
Comes with 16G micro SD card with maximum 32G supported.
Minimum ~4.5hrs on 16G card and ~10hrs for 32G card.
You can get powered from car battery, but you need additional unit call Power Magic. You can do event recording instead of continuous to save space and battery as well.
If you got Andorid/IOS devices, you can do live view/record on them as well.

I've got mine from these guys - Autoblackbox in WA- thinking, being from Vic, I'd get it a lot quicker, thought wrong.

Yeah mate it was the old suspension in the rear cargo, luckily they were in the boxes the new stuff come in other wise they would have been paying for new trim panels as well..........Cheers Steve
