  • Just bought 2005 Prado 4.0

I just bought 2005 Prado 4.0 two days ago.
Now, trying to feel the difference between my old buddy Suzuki Grand Vitara & new friend Prado.
    However i have some questions.

Where is the button to open Fuel Cap? In GV, it is right next the driver seat but i cannot find in Prado.
How to shift gear from D to 4? Everytime i tried it, it shifted back to D. THis also happens when i switched to 2 on the gearbox. it will shift to L and does not stay in 2.

    Anyone can help me?

    Thank you so much.

Fuel cap opener is under the steering column towards the right hand side, next to the bonnet release lever. As for the gear shift, sounds like you need one of these http://www.pradopoint.com/showthread...ver-repair-kit

Thanks. I already called up the toyota salesperson to sort it out. I hope it's not something so serious and does not cost much to fix. I would like to fix it on my own but i am worried that it could make it worse.

The fix is simple and cheap using the parts I posted. Toyota won't have those parts and will replace the entire shifter box. If they do that for you for free, then that's great. If not free, they're an expensive part.

I just sent him the video that shows the shifting between D and 4 not working. Hopefully i can get some good feedback from him soon.

Will you ship the parts to Hong Kong?

Yes, they are small enough to send anywhere. I have already shipped to the UK and South Africa.
