    The first thing I would be doing is checking that the winch fitted to the car actually works.

    No good going in over your head thinking you have the winch to save the day, only to have the thing not work when you are up to the sills in slop.

    After that, I would be buying a kit like most others have suggested. Just straps are good.

      You read my mind. Planning on going on the drive on Sunday, so will hopefully get a chance to unspool it then.

        That's a good bit of advise. WE took one of my mates work fleet up to Agnes Waters one time just so we could go anywhere & not care about damage, we forgot to check if the control box for the winch was in the car............let's just say it ended with some embarrassment.

          Not when it's under water lol.
          It didn't matter too much, it was only an old 100 series gx which was setup for mines access. A bit of water inside was nothing. Plus the esky was full so there was no real problem.
