Mine arrived yesterday. I purchased from the same supplier as Adrian5800. Even though it states V8.10.21 in the ad, it came with a patch to V8.20 on the disk.

Almost thought the install hadn't worked after I ran the patch kept erroring, but I had 57 updates waiting to install from Windows update (its an old unsed XP laptop). After a reboot the updates went through it worked fine. Will cross fingers, toes and pucker orifices and run the test tomorrow. (89,030 km)

I did AJ. I reread it too. I have windows 8, not xp.

Sorry, its like this, I'm using a new model 150 series with facelift equivelent and doubt the old arb bar from a 2009 120 series will work. Both run on D4D engines.

                Hey fellas,

What I meant was that I have the 32 bit drivers installed and working on a 64bit version of Windows 7. This has been an issue for a long time as there is no available driver for the cable interface for a 64bit machine. The link I have specified above is a work around for it. Some guys have installed 'Windows Virtual PC' with 'Windows XP Mode' to get it working but is a huge step, this is much easier.

Techstream itself is 32bit and being just software it works fine on a 64bit machine as it sits in the C:\Program Files (x86) folder. Using the method above it points techstream to the driver location and sets the 64bit interface to look in the 32bit node for the driver data.

In regards to Windows 8, I am not sure if this will work but it would be worth the try. I am sure if I spent the time on it I would get it working but unfortunately like any of us with a young kids I do not have the time. If you are running Windows 8, I would recommend upgrading to Windows 8.1 first.

                Duncan.

Okay so Techstream has been rec'd and installed on the computer, but I can't get it to recognise the registration key. I used the key for Europe and also tried the other ones provided, but still had no love.
I loaded it on a laptop with Vista, so could it be a soft/hardware issue or is more likely that I've been given a dud registration key?
                    Cheers,
                    Sean

I have a laptop with Windows 7. I had to get a virtual machine set-up with Windows XP in order for the system to work.

Got this running on a little Hp Notebook running Windows 8 64 bit. Techstream installed no problem, MVCI drivers were the pain!

Do you think using virtual machine will fix the registration key issue?

hi guys! Im trying to connect with my prado with one of this wires, its a 120 series 4lt v6 from 2003.
I dont know if I have to choose europe, japan, north america.
This car is australian, I tried with the european and japan versions, in the european the prado doesnt seem to be there and in Japan there is a land cruiser prado, but when you have to choose the year in option there is no 0301 or something like that.
Does anybody have the same wire and car as me.

                            thanks!

                              Hey Sean,

using a virtual machine will not fix the registration key. if you have a look at my previous posts it will tell you where to get a licensed copy and just install that.

Played a bit with the software and managed to go into some of the customising settings. Was hoping to find a solution to the auto lock of doors when driving and the GPS de-activate, but nothing. Did however manage to switch off the seatbelt warning buzzer.
