This is an interesting thread, I don't shop at TJM OR ARB for the same reasons as the above post. They treat you like you are clueless and have bad attitudes. If you ask a question before they talk down at you they give you the look.

I bought heaps of ironman gear on my Hilux and copped it from everyone about how shit Ironman is/was and that i would regret it blah blah blah. My bull bar had an issue where the hammer tone flaked off and there was some surface rust, i phoned Ironman in Sydney and explained the situation and they asked i email them through some photos, so i did.

The following day i had a phone call from their state manager saying he would be travelling up north the following day to see me. he called into work the next day like he said he would and asked whether i'd like a replacement bar (no hammer tone any more as the process was unsuccessful) OR what did i want? Well i told him that i was happy to keep that bar and that i wanted to paint it silver to match my flares anyway and that the guy next door (panel beater/painter) told me he'd blast it and 2pac it for $200 for me. Obviously the $200 cost for them to pay to do this versus the $1250 it cost for a new bar was considerably different so i put it to him that to make up the difference they could provide me with their 1200lb winch, plasma rope and ally hawse for free. Needless to say thats what they did and i was stoked with their service, 3 of my mates who bagged the shit out of me went and bought the same winch and rope etc as they couldn't believe how much better the product and warranty was then the warn they were going to buy for double the price.

I have had 1 dealing with tigerz11 and i won't be going back. But in saying that i will continue to shop for all my gear online as going into a store for me is nothing short of a hassle dealing with cowboys who couldn't give a rats!

Edited as reread post and sounded harsh which is not the spirit it was meant to be. Tigerz11 gear is shit. At any price.

Willing to spend large dollars on vehicle, skimp on accessories doesn't equate in terms of quality

Fixing stuff at home in the shed is not a problem. Fixing stuff when it craps itself 500-odd kilometres from the nearest repair facility is a problem. You only have to drop into places such as Drysdale Station etc where they will happily weld your busted bits for $150 - 180 per hour. And when things like roof racks break they often do damage to the roof of your car and damage the goods that were carried up there as well so it's like a triple whammy when they fail.

x2... Which can end up costing you more in the long run.

Roof racks, roof top tents, bullbars are all things that you use every single day when travelling in the bush, why would you buy stuff you know is sub standard when you need them everyday just to save a few bob?

On the other hand the only piece of TigerZ kit I have bought is their winch, I got it before their prices dropped to ridiculous levels so maybe their quality has taken a similar plunge. I've probably had the winch for 2 years, used it 5 times, only once to recover myself and I had other options if I didn't have the winch. Its been good and on one occasion another PP member had his Warn Winch fail recovering himself on the same hill. I did buy the Winch after a good report from a PP member who has one, a member who I have the utmost respect for his opinions.

Would I buy a TigerZ product I use everyday such as a rusty roof rack, bullbar, roof top tent............ No way!

I think it really depends on the individual store. The ARB one that I have gone to for years is outstanding. They have gone above and beyond. Sorry you have had a bad experience.

Like that nancy boy on the AutoPro advert that goes in looking for a roof bar to carry his bike. "Has your roof got fittings? Not sure, well go and check and get back to us."

I've ordered stuff from Tigerz11 twice now.

The first order was a roof rack and a recovery kit. After waiting a month without seeing anything, I started chasing them to see where my order was. The 1st time, the recovery kit was in stock but they were waiting for the roof rack. Fair enough. Called again 2 weeks later. The roof rack was in stock, but they didn't have any recovery kits. Another 2 weeks go by, I phone up again and the recovery kit is in stock but there's no roof racks. I asked them why they didn't just put aside my order and wait for the other item to arrive, but never got a straight answer. So I cancelled the order for the recovery kit and went and got one somewhere else. The roof rack finally showed up about 8 weeks later. All up, it took about 4 months.

The second order was a 12,000 pound winch and an awning. The awning showed up within a week, but the winch was nowhere in sight. After the last order, I was onto them straight away. "yeah, the winch is still coming". 3 phone calls over 2 weeks, but didn't get anywhere. Finally, on the 4th call, "According to our records it's been delivered". Well, no, it hasn't. Apparently, there was a miscommunication with the courier. The winch showed up 3 days later.

So yeah, their service isn't all that great.

Quality-wise, I'm happy enough with what I've got. The roof rack seems alright to me, although the instructions aren't worth the paper they're printed on. The awning does what I ask of it, although I don't use it all that much. If you're planning on using you're awning a lot, I'd recommend you get something else. I haven't used the winch yet, but I know other people who have them and are happy with them.

Can't say I've found their service to be any worse than ARB.

Could bore you with stories of insipid service from both.
