hey, been on b4 as a newbie with advice on a 4wd.
got one for my budget
a 1997 prado rv6
nothing special but in great condition
was hard to find one with no off road work and no power windows etc

just put on smart bar, spotties, roof cage and heavy duty springs 4 our trip
plus a few extras the missus nows nothing about..not yet anyway

thanx 2 everyone for their advice

any suggestions please...looking @ the gymkana @ maree

any advice on what 2 c, tyre pressure ova rocks etc would b appreciated

or even 2 hook up 4 a day 2 learn etc

Hi Russ,

I use to live in the Northern Flinders at Leigh Creek for 18 odd years. How long you got on your holidays ?
Lots of places to see and camp at thru there, Arkaroola, Morrow Gorge, Sliding Rock, Leigh Creek coal mine, Aroona Dam, the salt lakes, Brachina Gorge(aboriginal rock art in there), Parachina Gorge and climb St Marys Peak for a great view. There are more spots but a bit difficult to explain here where they are, don't want to get you lost LOL
In Marree if you bump into some locals named Khan, say hi from me Derek Bobardt.

We love taking the family to Warraweena, near Beltana/Sliding Rock. Very kid friendly (ours are 6 and 3), but the 4x4ing is good fun, especially the Mt Gill track. They have lots of different accomodation options, from bush camping through to huts, shearers quarters and the old homestead. Check the website.

Sounds like some bloody goox advise already there for you!
I take it you live at 5173 post code???
I can make it really easy for you if you like! I can tell you all the goss on most of it up there and the average and not so average road conditions etc
I live here too....meet at the vic hotel at 10am and ill talk your ears off for half hour about flinders...the wife is into horses too...

Got to be back for 1100 today to watch the mt peak usa race.... (I dont watch tv as a general rule but sports is my big exception. ...

Bendleby ranges is an awesome place to head mate. Good tracks and nice camping and cottages available.
