I see Techniice have their fridges and iceboxes on sale again too :-

    http://www.techniice.com/stock-reduction.html

Not an EvaKool I realise but worth mentioning as an alternative.

Are these knock offs from the peoples republic?

Any idea of the quality, power draw, performance, etc?

I don't know where they are made sorry. The specs are there if you click on the "more info" link, current draw is listed as "Averaging at Just 1.48 Amps / Hour in Fridge Mode and 1.64 Amps / Hour in Freezer Mode".

ETA: Fridge and compressor are made in China but the compressor is Italian designed (got the info by asking their tech support on online chat).

I have an old 70 Litre yellow 'fride mate' eva cool Fridge/Freezer. Its just fits into the back of a 120 series with one of the rear seats folded up. Its probaly about 10 years?? old now and still going strong. The lid and main body are starting to slightly distort so it doesnt seal perfectly anymore. The only thing I dont like is its length. It makes it a bit difficult to lift by youself.

Still waiting for my technice. Ordered just over 2 weeks ago for their " stock reduction sale" funny how there is over a 1 month wait for new stock during a stock reduction sale.
Gimmicky sales aside I'm sure it will be a good fridge.

              Funny how that works.

I'm very interested to hear your impressions of it when it finally arrives.

as im tight on a budget and was wondering what there like
Spoke to a sales person at BCF today and he recommended to stay away from this one if you do rough or corrugated 4WDing. He was adamant it would not last.

Having said that it's well priced and if you’re a BCF member you get a cover thrown in for free.

                        Eva Kool Fridge freezer

Fits in no problems. They can be repaired at any refrigeration mechanic. The Danfoss compressor is also in the big name fridge/freezers.

I am looking to buy another EVA kool about a 55 litre as a drinks fridge for camping.

They are made locally at a place 1 hour north of Brisbane called Caboolture. If you check out the Eva kool website they have a seconds store as well all the specs for

                        their fridges.

I had a good look at their site and I'm trying to decide which size is best. I know they work well as an esky so they are my pick as a camping fridge. I'm thinking a 60lt.

I bought a 60L Yellow at the Brisbane show as I thought it 'looked' better as the motor area has a cover over it.
As it happened it sat a bit taller than I thought and so went to the lower profile 70L.

The one thing I noticed was the 70L was a lot quiter - I think the 60L motor cover had a fair bit of vibration going on.

Heard anything yet Ticka? They're on "sale" again this weekend LOL. Seems like a good value bundle but they go from a 45L to a 60L and I'm unsure if the 60L will be overkill for my needs (2 people for a week).

Ray's have the Waeco CFX-50 (and others) on sale for Father's Day but it's still $1049 and I don't think it comes with the insulating bag, etc. The CFX-40 is $949 but might be a bit small going off my regular Esky as a basis.
