Hi All,

From the way the conversations are going would it be worthwhile to start PP Chapters and Sub Chapters in the Trip Forum. For instance:

WA Chapter
SA Chapter
Vic Chapter
NSW Chapter
Qld Chapter
NT chapter

Then have each chapter have its own sub forum?

Just thinking out loud really.

That is a good idea for trip planning but generally I like the friendly banter.
It would take for ever to stay informed if there are too many chapters and stickies

Maybe when selecting a topic for local information only title it appropriately addressed to the various states.

How about a separate sticker for each state.

How about a seperate "Trip Planning" and "Trip Report" directory? That way when the trip is over the reports can go in the appropriate directory and the Planning/Organising thread can be deleted saving space on the website.

Only problem with this (noticed on other forums) is that the original thread seems to get added to and the new thread about the trip doesn't get any hits or you'll have half a report in the correct thread and the other half in the trip thread?

Im just thinking out loud here as well.

I like the idea of the separate stickies for each state.
But a WA or a VIC in front of any new trip (in the one page)lets you see how much fun others are having in other states. And if you dont want to look you dont have to.

And If we go down the chapters route, dont make it too official like.
If its too official and job like then it can become a chore for someone, you know?? :?

And i feel it would be less cluttered to have "upcoming" and "completed" trips pages..

I agree, possibly two chapters.....TRIP PLANNING & TRIP REPORTS.

Also I like the idea of having a thread header standard such as...

STATE - PRIMARY LOCATION - DATE(s)

If the the date is still to be worked out, replace the date with TBA & once the date has been confirm by a poll or other means, go back & edit the original post subject to reflect the decided date.

I also like the idea that the orignal planning post is a summary of all the relavent info in the thread so that you don't have to read the whole thing to get a gist as to what is the current plan. This is especially relavent, if something is changed halfway thru the thread.

Things like meeting places & times, a current list of people showing an interest in going.

Anyway its not meant to be too formal, but just concise thats all.
