  • Hilux surf front diff and sus any better than 95 series?

    Hi guys?

as some of you may know, i sold my 95 series a while ago. now that i have about 15k for a project truck, only viable solution for me is Hilux surf japanese spec.
I had some pretty bad experience with 95 series front diff and susspension. always having to change bushings and ball joints. Oh and the rack and pinion assembly also horrible.
so is Prado 120 and hilux surf front end any better than that of TLC95? I am pretty short of cash after a major investment for my housing so gotta save some for bad days and drive softer surf.

    Regards Gantulga

excuse me for confusion Roo, i was looking for 2002-2009 (last generation hilux surf) which i believe is sold as 4runner. i am looking at surf 2005 and beyond. One other trade option for me would be wrangler either inline 6 or v6. but the quality of make makes me think twice.

Wrangler has some advantage over hilux in that they come new in 35K (sahara) they have live axle and comes in petrol. if i buy new wrangler, i can get financial support from bank. i know i want Prado 120 but 20k vs surfs 8-10k added that used cars not eligible for bank loan.

        what do i do?
