Why the double standards?

I am only asking the question many want to know the answer too but too afraid to ask in case the admins/mods are having a bad day and decided to ban them..I should know..been there done that.

The questions is simple enough even for admins and mods to answer.

Why the constant double standards PP?

Why do admins/mods amend some peoples posts for alleged profanity and yet leave others alone?

Why do some get infringements for alleged vulgar videos and yet others can post what they like?

So before someone has a bad hair day and just decides to send me another petty infringement for freedom of speech please take the time to answer the questions.

And before you mods tell me not to post this stuff in the open and use the pm system to ask you the question, I do just that and 99% of the time you guys just ignore it.

Use the system you say...BLAH..it does not work.

The other question is this. Who moderates the admins and mods?

In the interests of being fair, the system has been altered a little.
all reported posts now create a thread, this thread is then discussed and a minimum of three mods and admins are regularly involved in the discussion.

this obviously adds some time to processing a report, we all have real life to contend!

some posts are easy fixes, some are not.

some are dug up from the past and others are new.

some are from trolling member accounts... Some are real accounts...

some are flaming attacks some are slips of the tongue...

some are intended to incite others are not...

some are mates taking the piss, some are attacks on members...

some need a push in the right direction others are out of control...

some are one thing needing and action and others need something else...

some need and infringement and others need a holiday...

some are troublemakers and others are once offs...

no two cases are the same when you apply the above, and nothing happens instantly when an issue is discussed...

In the end, we dont read every single post and thread everyday either. Sometimes we stumble across an issue, sometimes we are looking for issues in troublesome threads, sometimes we have the issue reported.

it is surprising that since we altered the system, trends on reporting begin to crop up, these trends are also discussed.

if for whatever reason you feel that a post has not been adequately dealt with, then report it again.


We cannot possibly keep everyone happy all the time! We endeavour to try, and that is the aim.


If you feel that you are getting nowhere, pm the site owner prado-admin and seek a resolution.

There seems to be an incredible amount of angst over what is essentially a 4WD Car forum. Like in all walks in life there are good people and dickheads on this forum.
John's behaviour the other day was disgraceful and the bigger question would be if he wasn't banned, why wasn't he?

I'm not sure about the double standards, but my 2c worth is if people don't like the way the place is run, why push the point and just congregate online somewhere else?

How about a something somewhere explaining why individuals have been banned?

I've tried to work out why 2 people have been banned lately and from all the posts I could find (via their profile) there didn't seem anything "ban worthy". Perhaps the offensive posts were deleted - if so, could the mods/admins instead replace the offensive post with "inappropriate post because of ... - user banned for X days". This would be easily findable if someone is interested to know what the banned person did wrong but also removes the offensive post from the record.

I know Matty, and he is a genuine all-round top bloke. I have spent many an hour watching, learning and suggesting new things to do with my Prado, mlc's prado, iantz prado, to name a few. I have even had one guy quote Matty as the "YODA or OB1" of Prado's.

We all have busy lives, and no doubt we all came on this website to learn how to build-up our Prado, see what other people have done to their Prado, or find out what is coming up in the next new model.

Many of us have made some great people through this forum, so lets not spoil what this website/forum is all about.

After-all we all have one thing in common...... Great vehicles

Which banned ones would you like to know about, Peter?

All of the ideas you posted, whilst good in theory are a lot of extra work for the admins.
If you saw the hours that go on behind the scenes you'd be shocked..
Hence why it doesn't happen.. Remember the mod team are not paid or gain financially from this site, yet somedays spend each upwards of 4 hours a day making sure it runs as it does..

Looking at it again it looks like the mods are leaving edited posts around where the user stepped over the line. I did look a few weeks ago when someone got banned and couldn't see why. But looking at a more recent banning I can see the remains of the "problem" post.
