  • Back To Alice

    Hi All,

Well I am off very early in the morning to travel back to Alice.

I will be going via the Golden HWY and the Barrier HWY through Broken Hill then through Peterborough and over the range into Port Augusta tomorrow.

On Friday I will be traveling up the Stuart HWY to Alice.

So if you see my rig which is a gold VX Prado with Lightforce 240 Blitz spotties mounted on the sovereign bullbar then give us a wave or flash your lights. I will also be towing a canvas covered box trailer.

    Cheers

    Mav

    Missed ya

Mav, sorry to have missed you during your stay here in Corlette mate. I kept an eye out for you but didn't see you on the roads. I feel sorry for you having to leave what is relative paradise to head back to the Alice! I also don't envy the long drive you have ahead either. Wish you a safe trip and I know that the Prado will make the trip trouble free motoring too.

    Cheers

      Have a good trip Mav.

Just watch within 250kms of Pt Augusta currently. The boys have a new sneaky unmarked car fitted with new laser/radar gear they are testing.

Cheers mate, however I doubt I will be breaking any land speed records on this trip.

The Mannahill boys are the real buggers, they have the ground covered for a 100 k's either side of it. Had to laugh when I read what someone had written on the public toilet. They ask for donations, to cover the cleaning and supplies for the toilet, to be left in the pole outside the toilet entrance. Someone had written "Get it from the a-hole at the other end of town, he gets enough from the passers by."

Tis a shame we did not get to meet up mate, nevermind I will be back you can count on that. Maybe then we can meet up on a PP trip next time, there are some really great pradopointers around the Hunter.

Well I am now back in Alice, I arrived at 18:00 CST tonight.

Not a very eventfull trip, the only accident I came upon had happened a couple of hours before I got to it and that was a single car roll over about 2 kms from the NT border in SA. Looked like it was a Subaru Forester and quite a new one at that. the peoples belongings were still strewn all over the place where they had been tossed out of the car. I have no idea how bad the injuries were but I would imagine they were quiet bad by the look of the car.

Towing my drag chute of a trailer cost me quite a bit in fuel economy as it went up to 12.4 ltr/100 kms. I should have just left the canvas top off of it as the canvas acts like a huge drag chute.

Now to get everything sorted out at here so we can get back to a normal existance.

              Cheers
