  • Engel 40L MT45F fridge assistance

As part of my business we help a local company that imports 2nd hand Coaster buses from Japan and as luck would have it they all come with an Engel 40L fridge/freezer which are removed before refit into motorhomes.

I am now in possession of one of these Japanese delivered Engels as a Chrissy present. (insert woohoo smiley)

What i require is if someone can post a pic or at least advise of where the temp settings are on the temp dial, obviously unlike my ARB 60 its not a digital fascia just an adjustable dial and with Japanese writing i can tell if im arthur or martha and theres nothing worse than either frozen beer or warm beer.

Its presently in the back of the prado cooling at the moment but short of buying a temp gauge which i still might do im flying blind here.

    Any help appreciated Thankyou.

Just put some Dymo label numbers over the Japanese characters, can't forget that way.

To keep it about 2 degrees I find in between 1 & 2 works on Engels. Go past 2 & it's frozen. 1 is about 5 degrees.

Yep, still working on that - but the beer is Canadian cold!

a little experimenting will go a long way into keeping the drinks cold, go and find a digital thermometer and put it in the fridge and set it where you think might be right, and play with it until you have it in the rnge that suit you, yu can even buy wireless thermometers so you can keep an eye on the temp from outside the fridge. cheers samo

I find that 1.5 on the dial is about 0.4 deg c. 2 will definitely freeze. They are very consistent and you will very soon get the hang of it. I have had mine more than three years now and its about that long since I have even thought of getting a digital thermometer.

                  Cheers
