  • Camper Trailer hire in Adelaide

    Hi guys.

I need some advice. I'm planning a trip for two weeks over to the Nullarbor, and I've realised there isn't enough room in the Prado for all the gear we're taking. (we are cave diving over there, so we'll have tanks, dive kit, spares etc, plus two weeks worth of food and water.)

So I need a trailer, been thinking a camper trailer would work, it's got lots of storage, and I won't have to take my tent etc.

There are a few places in Adelaide that hire camper trailers, but I need a soft floor model, still with the trailer Tub relatively empty.

I've narrowed it down to two places, Challenge Campers in Edwardstown. These guys are really close to me which is handy, plus there are a few people on here who are really happy with their camper.

The second is Deluxe Campers in Woodside. http://deluxecamper.com.au I can't find a lot of info about them, they sell and hire Campers. The tent etc seems easy to set up, plus they have an abundance of Jerry Can holders, which is useful, since I want to take spare water and petrol.

Anyone got any comments or suggestions regarding either? Anyone ever hired from deluxe?

    Thanks for your help.
    Cheers, Damo

i had one of these camper from Deluxe
they are great , heaps of room, reasonably easy to put up
and they are as strong as an OX
he builds them to go the extreme places
i know quite a few people the have hired them again & again
if you talk to George i think they let you take it 1/2 a day before your hire to pack it & let you bring it back a day after your trip to help with the unpacking

when i sold mine they brought it back

I have a challenge camper from Edwardstown. They are strong, roomy, fairly easy to put up and tow very well.

I also have a challenge trailer, find it very solid, tows really well behind the prado and easy to set up. Also found Gareth very easy to deal with in regard to questions and the overall purchase, although not sure if he still operates the business or not.

        Cheers Batto.

Deluxe Camper is fantastic. I've hired there campers a few times. Not badly priced ether. We liked the double queen size beds. Also comes with everything you need from storage box's to electric brakes. The hard top is great for storing bulky stuff like kids bike's or fire wood. You can also hire fridge's and all sorts of other gear from him.

The to do list is getting shorter.

As far as I know Batto Gareth Handshin is still the owner of Challenge campers and they have also acquired Cavalier camper trailers. They have a pretty good hire fleet. The soft floor campers offer heaps of under bed base cargo area.

The plan is Webubbie and Murra. Cocklebiddy if we get time, but that's a stretch . have you been out there? Diving?

Cheers for the reply guys, it's been most helpful, but keep them coming.

There's a mob in Golden Grove called Coolabah Camper Hire who do a Kimberley Kamper and a Complete Campsite model too. I've hired there many times until I bought my own.

The beauty of these guys is you tell them every thing you want and they include it free of charge. So you don't need to pack anything in terms of cookware or anything. Just take your food + clothes and the rest is sorted.

Deluxe Campers are great, built tough and easy to set and pack up. My inlaws hired one for a trip around Aus, and were so impressed they bought one a few years later. My wife and I have borrowed it from time to time and had no dramas. Plenty of storage for your dive gear and as you mentioned, jerry cans!
