  • Good feedback for Aussie made Car awnings

    G'day all,

Just thought I'd share a good experience with purchasing an awning for my 120

We are 6 months into our lap of oz and pulled up over here in Mandurah W.A for a bit and getting some some things done to car and van,

basically had a look around at what the popular brands had to offer and i wanted cheapest so was pretty set on tigerz11 awning, local dealer gave me pretty bad customer service when i rang up about them so kept looking.

My wife stumbled on an ad on gumtree from GM OUTBACK Canvas for custom made awnings in Rockingham so gave them a call, after looking at the product i was really impressed with the quality and got them to make me one up

I went with the 2.5m x 2.5m with heavy duty 600gm pvc material and they also supplied the fitting kit which is similar to the rhino rack but under half the price.

$300 for the awning & $20 fitting kit, they also fitted it for free as i didn't have the tools needed.

If any one is over this way near Perth and wanting a quality awning i recommend checking these guys out

    here's a few picts,

    cheers.

    Zutta

Zutta..many thanks for the pics. Good to see you have a Thule aerobox. When I was in the UK working in a fairly affluent area a lot of people had them (lots of kids etc. Not saying your minted though!! Different situation over in Oz though. Thinking about a box myself one day rather than the R.R Pio platform.. Thx.

LOL mate, Thule box is a loaner from a mate back home, generously offered it for our trip you wouldn't see me in that fairly affluent area :P I would definitely consider buying this off him when we get home, it has been awesome for storing things. no mould on things and easy to clean out. takes 60 secs to remove from roof and your things are secure in it
