  • Vehicles that "fight" you

Chatting to a mate this morning who has taken possession of a very old troopie as a project. He said he's happy finding ripping into it and discovering more and more that needs to be done, because the car isn't "fighting" him.

Brought to mind my first car all those years ago, a Datsun. It hated being touched to the point where the bitch of a thing would refuse to start if I changed the windscreen wipers. Pedro the Prado on the other hand loves the attention and apart from my inexperience has never given me any issues when I try to do things.

Interested to hear if anyone else has a "fighter" or a "lover" under the hood?

    Cheers,

    Dave

I know if I touch the spark plugs on my 347 V8 injected Windsor in the Cobra it will develop a single cylinder misfire. So now I just leave 'em in there and don't touch. I have the iridium plugs. The first set did 25,000km and the current set a bare 1,000. It only gets fluid and filter changes and that's it. Don't even go anywhere near the valve clearances, nothing.
