  • ANother troopy roll-over

Yesterday, on the Duncan Hwy about 25km out from Halls Creek, a troopy rolled over. One woman is dead. Several others are in various hospitals some with serious to critical injuries.

Driver reckons the steering wheel locked and he couldn't steer around a bend. That was because the ignition barrel had been removed as there was no key.

You would probably be surprised how many cars (and buses) don't have their key

I once had an old Renault where we replaced the ignition switch with two big push buttons on the dash, green for start and red for stop. Worked brilliant apart from mates in the student share house borrowing the car without telling me.

Not stolen. They don't like keys because they are easily lost.
