  • 4WD course in Vic

    Hi there,

I would love to send my husband off in his Prado, to do a course, we hope to go around Australia and some sand experience would be great.

    Can anyone reccomend a company?

    Thank you

      Join your local 4wd club.

      1) An annual membership is cheaper than a one off training session
      2) Clubs provide free training to new members and during field trips.
      3) Make friends with like minded people who have travelled to places that
are on your itineraries and could offer you free advice.

have a think about it. This is one of the largest 4wd club in australia with club affiliation around the states.

Good idea however I'd rather spend $ than put up with club politics and cliques

I would agree with you in a lot of clubs, I am very lucky to be in a club that is free of all that.

            Hi Prado Wife

Try PNL 4wding. The are in Oakleigh, however they do their course at Narbethong, just up through the Black Spur, on a property there. They also take you out in the feild and also for a night run.

I completed the course about 3 years ago and found them to be very good.

2 day Intermediate course will probably be about $400 by now and you can camp on-site.

What I found good was they let the partners get involved and encourage them to have a go as well. You never know when you will have to drive. When I went there where 3 or 4 other Prado's.....it was like heaven!

            Anyway, good luck.

            Darren.

As others suggested I would join a club and do a driver training there.
That way you get a training (in most clubs it is included as part of membership), join new like minded people meet new friends and get much
more practice 4wd driving during club trips vs you can get in 1-2 day training session...

Four Wheel Drive Victoria runs a 4wd courses if you don't want to join the club, there are also list of most Vic 4wd clubs and their contact details on their web suite.
