  • Good Dealer to buy from

    Hi There,

I am just about to start looking to purchase a new GXL D4D Auto and was wondering about peoples dealer experiences etc.

I am in NSW and looking to purchase from Newcastle down to Norther Sydney although i will go further south or west tern suburbs if people can advise that the experience of a dealer is fantastic.

What i am looking for is a good price and a reasonable trade in value on an existing vehicle as well as good friendly and none to pushy sales people.

I also want a place that i can bargain with at least a little bit although from what i have seen about there doesn't seem to be a great deal of that going around. This may be the influence of leasing possibly but i am not sure. I will be buying outright so i may have more leverage.

I have my sights set on
    D4D GXL Auto
    Silver
    Option pack 1
    Sovereign Bullbar
Snorkel (dont know if dealer will fit or if i should go to an extenal supply and fit)
    Tow Bar
Possibly reversing sensors depending on veiw of people who have them

Wengnut thanks for the advice already in the welcome thread re a bull bar i will look into it.

    Cheers all
    Muddles

One of my workmates just picked up a V6 from Cardiff Toyota.

He found them to be really good.

I have heard great things about Maitland and Cessnock Toyota. Dont forget Singleton Toyota either.

      Newy dealers

I purchased mine from Cessnock Toyota even though they are a fair bit further away than the Newcastle dealers for me (I live near Nelson Bay). I purchased mine new from Cessnock over the phone after they easily beat the Newcastle dealers for price. When purchasing in 2004 I had a really bad experience with a certain Newcastle dealer (PM me for details) and downright refused to deal with them anymore. For your info Newcastle and Charlestown Toyota are owned by the same firm whilst Cardiff is seperate, that's my understanding anyway.

I can also recommend Cessnock Toyota, their sales guys aren't pushy and really understand customer service!

They dropped the car off to me in Sydney and then collected it again to have the snorkel, bullbar and dual battery installed - and they dropped it back to me again, all up about 800k's driving for them?

i bought mine on lease which meant i had to get all accessories installed by the dealer, which was a bit of a pain, but no real complaints. I had to replace the chrome loop on my Sahara bar and Toyota Cessnock were very keen to help out.

reverse sensors are good, but reverse camera is the bees knees if thats an option for you. Makes reversing that much easier and safer.

Terry Shields paramatta i would steer clear off. they messed me around completely.

            Hi All,

Can suggest you ask for the T-Tek Reverse Sensors by Haodi Australia.

            Their website link is here

I have that fitted and it is a great asset.

              Muddles,

I just got my recent replacement D4D 08 Prado from Clintons Toyota, Narellan. The service was excellent, very friendly, not pushy and very informative. Kept me informed at all stages during the deal.

Dealt with Gavin Jones, a friendly and helpful sales manager. They currently have a new 08 silver D4D awaiting that special someone to purchase.

They organised all the replacement accessories, plus 5 BFG's, Safari Snorkel, IPX 900XS spots, tinting etc.

No hard sell at any point. (Then again it was an insurance claim, but didnt feel that it was their method of operation).

Give them a call, couldnt hurt.

              Regards,

              Robert
