I am with RACV and pay just over $900 a year. For the new Prado and I though that was ok. Because for the Nissan I was paying Over $1200 a year and that was a 2004

Probably cheaper because the likelihood of you getting the shits and burning the car to the ground is highly reduced

My experience is there does not seem to be any real no claim or loyalty discount.
So I suggest you make the time to make a few calls or online quotes each time renewal comes around.
Try & keep them honest. There's heaps of difference in pricing.

I am with AAMI and I think it is around $610 per yr for a 2013 Altitude. This includes cover for all the accessories (about $15k worth).

Car parked in Carport, rural area, drivers with 16 - 20 yrs experience and a good driving record.

AAMI.. Took 4 years to sort out the one and only accident damage with them.. Was without a car for nearly 2 years because of their shitty insurance and workmanship.. Lifetime warranty on repairs certainly got worked out... A $5k original job turned into over 49k of repairs. Never again..

Basically I bought another car and made them fix the damaged one to what it was meant to be.. It had 1300kms on he clock!! At 30 months old..
Very long story but they used a dodgy crash repairer.. I stood my ground.

I pay a bit over a grand for my car, went with RACQ because they don't care where you drive. plus it's supporting our local helicopter rescue aswel.

My wife ran her Honda into my Prado. Covered under AAMI and after pushing a bit found that I could choose a repairer which I did for the Prado. The other car was done by AAMI and they did a great job so no complaints. And pay around 700/year

Geaz lots of low figures here, seems I'm the only poor bastard paying 1,500 p/y for an old 4wd! On the upside they cover the mods, everything off road as well as all gear in the vehicle/trailer.

AAMI - someone close to me has a claim with them, they took the $1000 excess, and 1 year on still nothing has happened. Utterly useless.

In the above mentioned AAMI case the customer requested that their vehicle be inspected for damage, AAMI then told the customer that they'll need to pay for the inspection. WTF?! What's the purpose of having insurance if we still have to pay for things like this? 1 year on...

Where can I find the market value for a 2009 150 Series V6 auto Kakadu? Redbook just seems to give a range. RACV are trying to change ours to market value on the current renewal.
