considering Diesel all comes from the one place in Brisbane, what are the special additives that Costco and others may or may not include in their tankers is more the question

The first link that i provided was more of a explanation about Costco for those who may not know who/what Costa is all about as you didn't explain who the Costco franchise was that you was questioning?
Wondering if their fuel was el cheapo and not worth the 60 bucks a year to stuff your D4D.
The second link that i provided clearly states that they "Costo" Get there fuel From the supplier that gives Costco the best price to them on the day. (More than likely a local distributor).
They also state that they only buy fuel from reputable suppliers,..." It could be any supplier but would more than likely/ Obviously have to meet or exceed the Australian fuel standards by the very least as "all" Aussie fuel suppliers are apparently reputable!... Lol
They also state that they are not interested in profits on there fuel but focused on customer membership fee with the intent to, literally, drive customers to there stores.
The third link was also more of a point of the big picture of the franchise its self and how it ticks!
I suppose if you use heaps of fuel & you can take advantage of there stores on what they have to offer then the fuel is just a bonus as there supply tanks will be brand new and mostly/ more than likely local fuel suppliers anyway so has to be a win, win if a high fuel consumer.
I also like the thought of someone kicking woolies & Coles ass for sum competition!
as i understand it there are 3 or 4 suppliers of diesel into brisbane. the two largest are caltex and bp (until the end of the year) from their refineries. I believe Shell imports occasionally from an asian refinery and neumanns also used to import but im not sure if they still exist?

Off topic slightly sorry but Costco is not a franchise, its a US owned Corporate. Still good for competition however.

So if it is not a franchise does that mean the same guy runs all of the outlets or are they all run by the same immediate family members?
Is by calling it a "US owned Corporate" an other way of a TAX dodge and taking profits out of Australia without paying a TAX burden?
Cheers
Call it what you want, Costco is not a franchise - they are not independent family owned stores with a central management model... McDonalds, Subway, Boost Juice Bars etc - they are franchises (not all, but many). Caltex Woolworths Plus Petrol - Not a franchise... Some Caltex only outlets, family owned franchise.
Cheers

Their fuel would have to meet or exceed the minimun Australian standard Cetane Index of 46. BP and Shell are "typically" 52 for BP ultimate diesel and 49 for Shell . However, BP and Shell only guarantee to meet or exceed the minimum level 46, but are 'typically' higher - but that infers they are not always.
Higher cetane = shorter ignition lag which typically results in smoother combustion, lower engine noise and a cleaner burning fuel - less chance of stuffed up injectors?
I'd be more worried about sediment and water - which can happen anywhere really.

the guy in charge of the page is peter graham and he works for a newspaper and is doing most of the articles posted above, he has stated many times that mobil supplies the fuel to costco.
there are 3 to 4 refineries/holding yards in brisbane, so all diesel does not come from one tank
BP Rochedale put their diesel up recently to $1.32. Buy two chocolates or waters and get another 8 cents off. Works if you purchase over 70l or more.
I usually put in 150 to 170L so with the extra 8 cents discount, overall saving is worth a couple of kit Kats. Sweet deal you may say!
Most of all I feel comfortable with BP diesel and having purchased all my fuel at the same garage for over four years, Qualitys never been an issue.
