Towing Boat with 120

When towing a boat with a 120 (or any series for that matter) how much clearance should you have between the front of the boat and the rear door/spare wheel to safely navigate hills, spoon drains, speed humps etc. without the boat making a surprise visit to the inside of the car??

Has anyone encountered this with the nose of the boat being too close to the tow hitch??

Bogged I regularly tow my box trailer with kayaks on a frame I made to suit. The nose of the kayaks would be within 600mm of the rear door and no issues to date.
