Once was on Blue Rag in the high country, the other on the Gunbarrel Hwy after thunder storms and flash flooding.
Mind you she now knows enough to point out any time that I do the slightest thing that's not by the book, swings and roundabouts hey

2 weeks after I got my Prado I did a 2 day training course with Australian 4x4 Driver Training http://www.australian-4x4.com.au/dt/index.html in the Blue Moutains. The training is all done round Lidsdale?Rydal and is very hands on.
It was definitley a good idea for me, beyond beach driving I haven't done any proper off-roading since my teens. I knew some of the theory prior but certainly learnt a few tricks and feel much more comfortable out and about now. It also ironed out a few bad habits for instance I now stop on exiting a river (where possible) to let the vehicle drain and don't drive on through washing away the banks.
I would recommend it, but if you like lots of classroom training and book learning, the course is probably not for you as it is very hands on. I couldn't have abided sitting around for a day in a class room so like the format. He does like to push newbies a bit so we tackled some stuff I would have turned around from
Basically the course a bit of pre-learning before the practical day, then on the day stand around the vehicles, discuss topic. Discuss technique - Do it, Drive to new location on bush tracks practicing, Stop - discuss - Practice, stop-discuss-practice etc. The second day is a lot of driving and making your own way around so plenty to practice from the previous day.[SIZE=2]120 GXL D4D Auto, with a 'List of Wants' greater than the 'List of Needs' greater than the 'List of Haves'

I did mine with the Toyota Land Cruiser Club (Qld) earlier this year. It consisted of two theory sessions, one workshop session and four days of driving over two consecutive weekends. Limited to 10 with one on one accredited instructors. Emphasis on safety, looking after your vehicle and the environment. I learned so much and was able to take the Prado places I wouldn't have thought about before doing it.
