  • Replacing Brake Rotors

Just wondering what brand people recommend for rotors ?? I will be using Bendix 4x4 pads all round. I had the tyres rotated yesterday and noticed the rear pads with about 2mm left on them so Im going to replace rotors as well but Im going for the slotted ones. I have seen these ones http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/2-Rear-Dr...6765261&_uhb=1 which seem pretty reasonable but never heard of them before.
    Then this brand http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/SLOTTED-P...df2fb54&_uhb=1
Then there's these Brembo's but maybe paying for the name ?? http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/BREMBO-ST...c65cfdb&_uhb=1

Some one also said PBR and recon their the best ?? I will be doing the front after when the pads get down a bit more. Currently has standard OME stuff all round.....Cheers Stev

DBA slotted with Bendix or I fitted RDA slotted with RDA extreme pads.

I saw the Brembo setup and was interested to know how they went, buy them and tell us

We fit RDA rotors at work and have very few problems. If it was a race car i would say go with Brembo, but we're talking about a prado here. My old 80 series runs RDA rotors and Bendix 4WD pads with no issues

I have been been using the Brembo solid rotors on the front on my 08, KDJ120 for about 10,000k so far. I also used the Brembo pads as they were cheaper than OEM. I have been very happy with the performance and wear. You need to bed them in when new to get an even grey colour. I note that they are now about $166 pr inc post on ebay from Melb. Using slotted or drilled will wear pads quicker and from my research and experience so far, is not necessary for a Prado. Hence I Brembo quality discs and pads for less than half the cost of Toyota rotors only, was a good deal.

I bought RDA rotors and Bendix pads from those guys. They arrived in about a week and everything was fine. The rotors were slotted but also had little dimples across the face. I don't notice them being any different to factory brakes in normal driving, but if I'm towing and using the brakes a lot, or I really stomp on the pedal, then I notice a big improvement over factory.
