Being an ex tradie myself it constantly baffles me why they put an ad in the paper but wont come out to price a job or if they do never come back !!! basically trying to get a price for an 8Mtr x5 Mtr workshop and cant get one of them to come and give a quote for some stupid reason they will only send it by email without seeing the job , thats fatal, must be a Perth thing , sure their getting TOO much money and being too picky or is it me ?

I think you will find the whole free quote system has stuffed things up a bit, everyone wants a quote and a lot of people (customers) are just pure and simply time wasting dreamers who want stuff but have no means or intentions of ever buying anything.

I know the amount of time I spend working out quotes for people and never hear a word from them again, that's just me working for nothing, personally I prefer to get paid for working.

Everyone likes customers who just say do it, and don't query the price. If I was a Tradie and got enough work from those types I wouldn't bother about giving quotes either.

Nah I'm from Toowoomba Qld and I have got 4 builders and three painters out to quote a 4m x 5m extension and bathroom Reno and not a quote yet! Looks like I'll be doing it myself!

Perth tradies are pretty useless though.
